I linked the below story in a live thread over the weekend, but I found some video to go along with it. These are of Seth Nevills' semifinal and final matches at the CIF state championships Saturday, which were his 36th and 37th pins of a 37-0 season as he maintains an undefeated career record. Pretty impressive feat as the youngest of the Nevills family continues to establish himself as one of the two best heavyweight recruits in the Class of 2018.

State wrestling: Clovis’ Mejia, Nevills make history as Central Section crowns eight champs

I'm not sure that he's ever wrestled a ranked wrestler. I imagine he'd beat up on most of them, but don't recall it ever happening. Could be wrong.
I understand he wrestles the current #4 ranked NCAA Heavyweight every Christmas break and summer. Not certain how he does there, but that would be a much better barometer. Rumblings have him farther along as a wrestler as a high schooler, than Nick at that time. I certainly would "take" that for data. Nick is right up there at the top, and if not for a once a generation freak like Snyder, he could have a legitimate claim for finals this year and next. I would be ecstatic to have Seth attend PSU as their next gen HW.

That may all be true, and it's a shame Seth will defer to AJ.

I've been told by reliable sources, close to the program, that he is practicing situational wrestling, where, when down in the match, the Duck Under is used as a surprise winning move

Haha. There was a big match this year where this happened. Can't remember which, but remember thinking of this meme

It's his go to move when down by 1.

I remember Gwiz's sr year of HS he had something like 56 falls in 57 matches (or something very close to that) in NY.

Another recent one was Chris Snyder, Milton HWT. About 15 yrs ago, he lost his first match of the year, then pinned his way to the state finals. Got almost all of them with a headlock.

That was also his undoing in the state finals ... opponent was an athletic guy who could avoid and counter the head-hunting.
