It was cheesy. Brands brothers needed something to show that they like to have fun too. Every wrestler from 5 up to 18 was watching PSU have ball steamrolling the competition this weekend. They are all wanting to be a part of that someday do Terry needed to try to stop the train somehow do he begs Cory to throw him. It's not cool when it's scripted Terry...
Cool. Iowa's way of having fun. I love it. They are adapting and adopting to the modern philosophy of the sport. It's about time. Hats off to Terry and Cory both.
We probably have differing philosophy's when it comes to fun. To me, it's not exactly fun when a guy grabs me, shouts in my face several times, "hey throw me...throw me.... let's have fun ....throw me.....weeee....". No, I kinda like my fun to come naturally. Not someone forcing me to have fun...
Clark himself even knew it was cheesy and dumb. Terry pleaded to be tossed because he figured it would be good PR. Only works if it's not fake.

It's cheesy because it was already done before by the Japanese girl and her coach. I don't think her coach asked her to do it though.
You guys are harsh. Choreographed or not, it was a joyful moment that showed a coach's emotional investment in his kid's success. I enjoyed it a lot.
Brands should have just sat in his chair, with his chin resting on his hand. Hard to believe the coach would be happy and pull that line of crap. Takes all kinds. Even the throw was executed poorly. Anything else?
You have to remember when Iowa gets a national champion it is a big deal! PSU gets one national champion and everyone would want to know how the program hit hard times. Let us just agree that the two programs are operating in way different zones as far as expectations are concerned.
Yep, this was Brands' only moment on the big stage. He had to do something to say 'hey, look at me'.
Otherwise he's sharing equal billing with Santoro, Smith and other coaches with just 1 champ.
In my final review, I'm going to go with this same sentiment. Everyone there laughed and thought it was entertaining. The fact that it was contrived, well, they have to start somewhere in trying to emulate Cael & Co. Additional thought: I would have liked to have seen Berhow get thrown instead. THAT would have really been amazing - in a flattening sort of way!

Im really suprised that the photoshop artists among us (not me) didnt put brands head on the fonzi jump the shark pic or the fonz on the brands getting tossed pic. Seems destined for a great meme.
