I do not want to be negative toward any student athlete or any specific coach. As crazy as it sounds, I think this loss to a non-division less talented team could place PSU in a better position going into the rest of the season. If it was not apparent before the Minn game, it is now apparent where improvement is needed. Yes, most would think there weaknesses were present all year, but winning games makes them less apparent, especially to the athletes. I would hope the coaching staff was aware of the issues that were exposed against Minn before the Minn game.

The biggest stakes are still ahead of this team and how they come out this weekend against a very good Indiana team will go a long way in assessing the ability of Coach Franklin and this team to get to the next level.

Time will tell.
