Really interested to see what he does this weekend at Shippensburg! So far, so good: 10.39 wind-aided 100 in his prelim. Would be a state record save for the wind!

Who is the kid?
Saw this kid play. Touchdown machine. Literally outran every kid on the field every play...was sort of comical actually.2-time PIAA gold medalist, Conemaugh Township senior Ethan Black commits to Penn State football team as preferred walk-on

Given his speed and his HS football record, there must be a reason he's underrated. Perhaps it's the old saying, "9.9 speed, 12 flat hands".Can he catch?
If nothing else, maybe a future helping on special teamsGiven his speed and his HS football record, there must be a reason he's underrated. Perhaps it's the old saying, "9.9 speed, 12 flat hands".
And more recently, Drew Hartlaub, a speed guy who earned playing time.If he can just learn to catch the ball some of the time, and get a couple catches on tape against early season opposition, a burner like this can be an effective decoy and occupy a corner and a safety and help you in certain situations.
But yeah, maybe he's more defensive minded and can be a gunner. Anybody remember Ethan Kilmer? A walk-on who might have been PSU's best gunner ever.
Do you suppose the climate allowing year-around training has something to do with that?Gets him top 25 in Florida….
Gets him top 25 in Florida….
In the 4a final it would have been good for 3rd place.Gets him top 25 in Florida….
Gets him top 25 in Florida….
But he had the best time, regardless of division, in both the 100 and 200. He vroke the PA state record for the 100 in a preliminary round.Fla only has one Division? This kid did not win PA's top Division.
And Dennis Mitchell from South Jersey and Jonathon Drummond from Philadelphia, both members of winning 4 x 100 Olympic relays! Take that Florida!!Do you suppose the climate allowing year-around training has something to do with that?
PA has produced at least 2 sprinters who held the world record for 100m -- Leroy Burrell from Lansdowne, PA and Barney Ewell from Lancaster, PA. And Carl Lewis was from South Jersey.
Speed is not found just in the South.
Kilmer was also a pretty decent receiver with an insane vertical. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0iwoJ6m9E80But yeah, maybe he's more defensive minded and can be a gunner. Anybody remember Ethan Kilmer? A walk-on who might have been PSU's best gunner ever.
Obviously all Southern PA and Southern Jersey speed. LOL!And Dennis Mitchell from South Jersey and Jonathon Drummond from Philadelphia, both members of winning 4 x 100 Olympic relays! Take that Florida!!

That would be Journey Brown's PA state record. Black had a 10.39 to break Journey's record of 10.43But he had the best time, regardless of division, in both the 100 and 200. He broke the PA state record for the 100 in a preliminary round.
The "Southern Speed" stuff has gotten old. Pennsylvania and other states also produce great sprinters. What the hell does Leroy Burrell have to do with the fact the kids time would be tied for 25th in Florida this year?
It’s like comparing a good distance runner in the US to a bunch of Kenyans.
Great athletes can absolutely be found anywhere. Don’t see anyone arguing that…..
Makes me wonder why we seldom saw him until that game.Kilmer was also a pretty decent receiver with an insane vertical. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0iwoJ6m9E80
It's going to be a l o n g time before anyone breaks Jordan Geist's state shot put record of 74' 3.5". F=MA in action! That would be Journey Brown's PA state record. Black had a 10.39 to break Journey's record of 10.43
Just looking through PIAA records, found 2 additional PSU football players who hold state records
For AA schools, incoming freshman J'ven Williams has the shot put record at 66'7.75"and Brian Milne still holds the AA discus record at 206'3"
Geist recently won the NCAA indoor shot title (a long college career). It's going to be a l o n g time before anyone breaks Jordan Geist's state shot put record of 74' 3.5". F=MA in action!
My first thought. Ethan Kilmer has been my favorite gunner everIf he can just learn to catch the ball some of the time, and get a couple catches on tape against early season opposition, a burner like this can be an effective decoy and occupy a corner and a safety and help you in certain situations.
