Was Shorter getting open on Saturday? He had a few catches and a drop, correct?

My post last week about a possible move to TE was prompted by my assessment that he has a hard time getting separation. Not many WRs do against OSU, so maybe not a good game to base the question on. However, the question remains if he and PSU are best served by his remaining at WR, IF he can't generally create separation against teams with a pulse.

What he does against Rutgers should be taken with a grain of salt.

It was a stupid idea the 1st time you posted.

It seemed to me that a fair number of people didn't share your opinion the first time I posted. If we don't land Theo Johnson, it may prove prescient. It also may not. Whatever the case, the idea of a big, athletic kid changing to a position requiring size isn't stupid, IF he can't get it done at a position where his size may be an encumbrance. Thanks for checking in.

He had a couple catches and i don’t think he dropped any. They weren’t really able to get the receivers down field at all because of #2. I think you are gonna see Shorter as one of the key receivers next year now quit bringing up the same stupid things that aren’t gonna happen.

I am someone who watches the receivers pretty closely. Just because they aren’t getting targets doesnt mean they are getting open. Clifford will be better next year at scanning the field, this year the clock in his head was pretty fast and he knew who he was looking for every time, 1 and 87. The game will slow down for this kid and he will spread it around next year. You can count on that.

I should have run it by the coaching staff before I posted. Of course, there are board belligerents the staff would need to run this by to get their approval, internet tough guys who talk anonymous smack if you bring up an idea they don't care for. Why do they do that? Because there are no consequences for being rude when they are out of sight. Isn't that correct?

Shorter had 3 catches for 28 yards against OSU. I'm not sure how many targets he had but I know I saw him drop at least one.

All due respect, you’re taking this too seriously. You suggested an idea that isn’t going to happen. Given that, why should anyone take it seriously? What did you expect?

There is a vast difference between "all due respect" and shabby disrespect, LionJim. Some people need to figure out a more agreeable way to disagree. Not taking something seriously isn't grounds for insulting rudeness, unless your initials happen to be DJT. Then it is just a matter of character.

Shorter needs to lose his weight a little bit and work on speed and catching the ball. He and George will be excellent WR's, patience is needed. Levis may consider TE position if other QB's make moves. Levis has potential QB as well. We are disappointed with Minn. game. Otherwise, our team played well, better than we expected.

Levis at TE? Now that is a horrible idea. Some people already saying he has NFL potential

Levis is a fantastic athlete with fine mobility. One way or the other, he should be on the field. He is going to get an opportunity to play a lot this week.

Call me crazy, but why should he play against RU? I understand he could just as easily come back next year, but none of us puts up w/ this routine w/ a spouse or a gf.

The ncaa needs to stop the portal crap while the season is ongoing. There are conflicts and potential abuses all over the place with this stupid system as it is. Allowing it during the season is just flat out stupid.

Relax people.

Shorter will be back at PSU in 2020 and I would very much welcome him back. Justin is simply going through a process we call "maturation". He's simply frustrated with himself, his current situation and his Head Coach's unhealthy obsession with throwing the deep ball to Hamler. I can't say I blame him.

He just needs some time off to rededicate himself. By the time the Blue & White game rolls around, you all will be salivating over what 2020 holds for his NFL future.

That said, he shouldn't play on Saturday. His "targets" should go to Chisena or another worthy, but departing Senior.
