Watching Arizona beat tOSU....with 2 PA kids on the court!

McConnell actually went to Duquesne for a year,

and then transferred. He was the original white boy who wasn't good enough to play real D-1, when he was originally being recruited.

Can't believe Dixon missed on him. He's from Chartiers Valley.

Hey PSU he has a brother who is "committed" to Robert Morris

TJ's younger brother averaged around 30 PPG this year and is committed to Robert Morris......a team that made the dance this year.

Maybe a player worth trying to change over to PSU......

Considering McConnell signed his letter of intent to RMU in November, I don't think that's possible. He's quite committed.

Ron Everhart was smart in offering TJ back when he was a sophomore at Chartiers Valley. Dixon backed off of him when he verbally committed. I guess there's some sort of gentlemen's agreement between Pitt and Duquesne that once somebody verbals to one, the other won't pursue. RMU offered Matty early as well. I suspect Matty won't be finishing at Robert Morris, much like his older brother. But, if he stays, look out for Robert Morris.

I believe both kids are from Western Pa as is the Arizona coach!

Couple of points here ...

TJ committed to and played at Duquesne when Aunt Suzie was the women's coach there. The kid is a hell of a basketball player and his younger brother Matty will also do very well at the next level.

Maybe Matty will follow TJ's footsteps (not necessarily to U of A) and play a season locally and then shop around for a bigger pond. Maybe he won't.

Both boys were coached in high school by their dad, Tim, aka Aunt Suzie's brother. This is a basketball coaching family.

Reference to Sean Miller, son of Blackhawk High School coaching legend John Miller (also rumored to have been one heck of a recruiter in the high school ranks). Sean is the older brother of Archie Miller who coaches at the University of Dayton.

Sean played at Pitt, cut his coaching chops at Xavier under Thad Matta and moved up when Matta when to Columbus. Sean is a tremendous basketball coach, who parlayed his XU success into the big bucks in Tuscon.

Archie played at NCState and if memory serves me correctly, coached there. He did a great job at UD this past season with a woefully undermanned squad that was "height challenged". I suspect that his days in western Ohio may be numbered as his stock rose considerably this season.

TJ was a great AAAA player and almost single handily lead CV to state title. His performance in that game was awesome against a highly ranked Philly school with several D1 players. Great player especially on the defensive side in high school. That being said his father is a great coach too. My kid camped with him as a FR and he certainly helped his jumper off the dribble.

Both TJ and his teammate, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (Chester High School) played in state championship games at Bryce Jordan Center......PSU coaches (at the time) would not have to go far to have seen them play.

Chambers has a far better chance of upgrading the current team than Ed DeChellis did and PS basketball prospects, no matter how frustrating this season was, will brighten over the next 2-3 years.
