Watching Serena - Holy Crap She Could Start On Our Offensive Line!

It's one of those things whispered by the Pam Shriver/ Chris Everet/ Johnny Mac types who would never say so on air........until about 5 years after she retires and they pretend like they covered the 'well known' issue.
What gave you that idea?

She would do better at O$U where she could grab hold of her opponent and rip them to threads, while the officials gazed at the game clock and ignored it!
It's amazing how many good looking girls play tennis at the highest level. Half of them look like models.
Serena though has always been big so I wouldn't want to accuse her of anything. She deserves credit for being one of the best female athletes of all time. Venus was always a twig but pretty awesome too.

What has made female tennis unwatchable is the incessant screeching at the top of their lungs when swinging. It's clearly gamesmanship (among other things) and should be penalized until it is stopped. Screamapova is the worst.
I love to watch Serena destroy fools. Just an amazing competitor and fighter. The story of the Williams sisters deserves to be told well some day.

Agree. I'm more concerned about the continual mental collapses of players like Wozniaki and Bouchard who make women's tennis infinitely more watchable. Woz's collapse a couple nights ago was depressing to watch. And Bouchard has been AWOL since firing her last coach.
I won't even watch women's tennis....I enjoyed the days when there was actual competition. The days of Evert, Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles....now, it is a one person show. Some people enjoy that...I don't. Parity in sports is good. No one wants to see the same people win all the time.
Maybe I'm in the minority but I am amazed at what Serena is accomplishing at her age - well past the prime age for tennis. She was in big trouble last night and just has a way of never quitting and being able to not only overcome, but to in the end blowing be the competitor.
Totally disagree. I have followed tennis since the 70s and have never seen a player like Serena. We are privileged to be witnessing greatness. Not just her shot-making and athleticism but also her mental toughness.
Not in the minority. She is simply the best tennis player of her era men's and women'' and I'm a Federer fan as well. She has that tiger woods effect on opponents
She looks like a man in drag. I don't know if she has juiced or not, just saying I find her appearance unappealing, and in many matches her physical advantage is so great that it doesn't make for an entertaining match.
Our offensive line is young and hungry, and they are growing boys. They will catch up.
