if Clifford throws it to Cain in the flat, he walks in. There wasn’t anyone within 5 yards of him.
It happens on most every down. As bad as having Lee open in the flat for an easy 5+ yard gain in the 1stQ only to have Clifford look at him and take a 4yd loss near the sideline.if Clifford throws it to Cain in the flat, he walks in. There wasn’t anyone within 5 yards of him.
Clifford has terrible vision and constantly game after game refuses to take the short open receivers in the flat.
I think Franklin’s emphasis on big plays has impacted Clifford’s decisions.
They must be related to you.It happens on most every down. As bad as having Lee open in the flat for an easy 5+ yard gain in the 1stQ only to have Clifford look at him and take a 4yd loss near the sideline.
Like his head coach, Clifford is “intellectually challenged”
Yeah, many why the heck didn’t you see that guy open or coming open.He does have terrible vision.

My goodness. You could say this about almost any pro in the NFL on every single play.Immediately after the play was over, Jack Ham on the radio broadcast mentioned Cain being wide open on the play.
Nice try, but it was a 2pt. conversion play from the 3. Not an explosive play to be had from there. My goodness. You could say this about almost any pro in the NFL on every single play.
If anything, I'll give some consideration to @ILLINOISLION who pointed out CJF's thing about explosive plays.
Almost wonder if people would prefer a return of Kirk Ciarriocca who at least gobbled up yards and TOP between the endzones and settled for field goals.
CJF wants a big-play, explosive offense. It's not as easy as just wanting it. But that's what we're working on. Looking at Mike Yurcich's and Phil Trautwein's resumes, we're going to get there, guys.
If you are going to continue to make rational statements you need to leave this board. They only deal in delusions.Nice try, but it was a 2pt. conversion play from the 3. Not an explosive play to be had from there.
What is it about Phil Trautwein resume that makes you think that?? The most impressive part is the 2 yrs at PSU!My goodness. You could say this about almost any pro in the NFL on every single play.

Yeah that was some bs out there. Ridiculous and feels artificial in regards to determining a winner. Just play an OT period of 10 mins and who ever has more points is the winner, if not, it’s a tie.Whoever came up with this crazy alternating 2pt conversions needs to go back to the drawing board, felt like I was watching Soccer out there with PK's deciding a winner.
I agree. I like the NFL's system for OT. Another option would be to have the offenses start at their own 35. This takes away the near automatic FG that extends the OT's.Yeah that was some bs out there. Ridiculous and feels artificial in regards to determining a winner. Just play an OT period of 10 mins and who ever has more points is the winner, if not, it’s a tie.
The 2 pt conversion success rate is 43% (just looked it up). Brilliant way to shorten games, NCAA.Yeah that was some bs out there. Ridiculous and feels artificial in regards to determining a winner. Just play an OT period of 10 mins and who ever has more points is the winner, if not, it’s a tie.

OmgHey, it was also the anniversary of the awful 6-4 Iowa loss yesterday. Maybe we shouldn’t play on Oct 23 anymore!
plays in the flat are always open they never use them!!It happens on most every down. As bad as having Lee open in the flat for an easy 5+ yard gain in the 1stQ only to have Clifford look at him and take a 4yd loss near the sideline.

But we always have you to post drivel to look forward to. Maybe because he was not 100% but Clifford threw very few long passes yesterday. Most of them were WR screens in the flat or outs and passes over the middle. Try watching the game next time. But what the hell why let’s facts spoil a BS narrative. Clifford ain’t the only QB who doesn’t see open receivers. Happens every damn game with every QB.The problem with the big play offense is what happens when you don't get them. We have been big play or bust all season and the longer the season goes, the harder it will be to get them because of defensive adjustments. There are some trends that people don't want to talk about across games and within games.
I think the PIAA's OT is the best set up. Each team gets the ball at the 10 and has 4 plays to try to score. It could be modified so that in the second OT there are only scoring TD's, no FG and each team needs to go for a 2 pt conversion. I believe that most OT games would end after the 2nd OT.Whoever came up with this crazy alternating 2pt conversions needs to go back to the drawing board, felt like I was watching Soccer out there with PK's deciding a winner.
Agree, but football is as much or more about having a plan B to adjust for unexpected play of your opponent or the weather...there were both yesterday. My goodness. You could say this about almost any pro in the NFL on every single play.
