Wayde and Paul's Excellent Adventure Part 2, BIGS 2023

@hlstone and I just got our tickets. Anyone interested, they are on sale now through GoBlue.com. The PSU section (110) was pretty much sold out, we are at the edge of the Wisc section right next to PSU. I guess we will be the blue and white in a section of Red. Tickets are $50 for lower and $30 for upper.
Since we are on the boarder of the Blue and Red sections. I should wear my NU purple gear. Right?

Weather permitting, be sure to go to Hell -- it's damn close to Ann Arbor.

(About 30 min NW of campus. Mostly some a goofy photo-ops + a souvenir shop. But the Hell trinkets do make good gifts.)

Closer to campus: Ama Bistro. Downtown diner with a few Albanian items -- because where else are you gonna find Albanian? (Was good too.)

Hey Paul… if that is sec 112, I know of 23 other PSU fans that will be in that section… hopefully we’ll finally get to meet!

Awesome, yes, section 112 row 8 for the three of us. One of my sons, who recently moved 113 miles northwest of Hell, will be joining us.

You will know how to find me, I'll wear Blue and White and a PSU wrestling hat!

I just grabbed 3 seats for section 227. Right now I'm sitting out of Nationals but that could change. This is my fall back. I did the same thing when I skipped Nationals and went to the Big10s at Ohio State.

A thank you shout out to 82bordouex for being my PSU wrestling life coach. One of these days the lesson of ticket acquisition will set in, Don't give up the ship. (Erie slang)

Oh hell might as well fess up

The first seat is for me

The second seat us for my winter clothes as the last time I saw Penn State wrestle MU there it was 10 degrees

The third seat is for the Cheesecake I'm buying from some tall guy from Pennsylvania (it is a two day tournament and I beat the lines at the concession stand)

You all know that Warner is my favorite wrestler in the Iowa line-up. Now I know why. Off the matt, we both have big smiles and are the same height. He waves and talks to everyone. I can relate to that.

Well, our mom's are polar opposites. My mom leaves men speechless by her grace and beauty.... I guess I will leave it at that.

Bigs are a great time! Paul, Jordan(his son), and I had a blast traveling around Michigan.

We sat with some of our favorite posters of the boards since the Scout days. It's been at least 15 years that we have been buds through these forums.

They did let me wear my NU visor on the 2nd day, once PSU was comfortably in the lead.

We were fortunate to meet a few parents of other teams. And got to root for their kids when PSU wasn't wrestling. Just one reason why this is the greatest sport ever!

One more story before bed.

Paul made friends with Rutgers 184 guys parents. The father tells us that when the kid faces Assad, the kid will crush him. Well, the kid goes on and pins Assad in the 1rst on mat 2. The whole arena went wild!
Wayde made friends also.

Plus, we met them right after their son lost to Aaron Brooks. The son says “I know I shouldn’t like him but he is just so nice, he even held the door open for me today!”

I love it cause it's true.

I attended a journalism course for a semester.🤣
Start with a B or an M? With or without Davis coming I believe PSU would have an interest. However, with Davis coming there is probably very little of the 9.9 available. NIL money and let whichever one it is work multiple camps in Iowa so they can help finance this athlete.

Drove 267 miles Friday through the later part a white knuckle storm. At times had to drive 15 mph on the interstate. Saw 8 cars in the median.

Last 50 miles took 2 1/2 hours. Made it to the hotel safely. After checking in while they were plowing the hotel lot, I tried to get out of their way and drive off the property to another next door hotel and come back and park.

After all that travel, Got stuck in the snow on the flatest piece of land in Michigan by that hotel. A separate guy plowing and two guys (fans) from Ohio State pushed me to get momentum. Some Buckeyes are great dudes.

Before they pushed me though they did bitch about tOS not getting seats from Cael in Rec Hall. In my mind it was please push me please and later wondered why they wanted so badly to see their team lose.

But they were good guy for their help!

Dude! You are my buddy. Let me know when you are going to a meet or tourney. There is always room for one more!

Isn't coming to us. Great kid. Can't get out from control yet
Guess we'll have to look for what colors his brother wears at states this week. Wouldn't expect us anyway, for the reasons given.

Bouzakis' finalists were anOSU, PSU, Arizona State, Iowa, Oklahoma, and OKST.

Usually you look to the finalists because the athlete already has a relationship with those coaches, but I wonder if this is an exception. Family was very important to him before. Maybe he'd go to Lehigh, with his brother a soph at NDGP (15 min from campus) and an excellent training partner in Crookham.

Still won't learn to get off the bottom. Maybe Beckman can teach him to stall for 6 and a half minutes and pull something out.

I have to give Beckman a little credit. Most Lehigh kids learn to wrestle circling backwards with very little offensive aggressiveness. Beckman never moved forward much, but usually he wasn't backing up. Of course backing up while you are positioned on your knees is difficult. Well, unless you are J'den and you soak the mat first.

Really? It took PSU fans traveling to Ohio to put butts in seats at their place this year and their bitching they don't get seats at Rec Hall? How do they forget about the "We Are" chants in their own venue?
