We are going to destroy USC's OL tomorrow.

I am interested to see how we play Moss early. The USC offense has been hamstrung by weak OL play. I have read too much about their passing attack while being told our passing attack needs work yet the passing stats are similar and we have an exponentially better running game/stats. Are we able to control the LoS with 4? Do we generate enough pressure early?

A lot is made of USC's performance vs Michigan, but this Michigan defense is not the same as '22 and '23. They are giving up 260 passing ypg. Ranked in the 100s. They are still a strong DL, but the secondary is Will Johnson and a bunch of guys who don't defend the pass as good as Will Johnson.

LSU is down there as well, giving up 239 ypg and ranked in the 80s.

It's a shame USC dropped the game to Minnesota because a top 10 win would have been nicer, but this is the same USC team regardless. As long as the road voodoo doesn't bite us, I think we control this game.

This storyline seems to be the most talked about heading into the game - I can't imagine an offensive mind like LR is going to let Moss sit back there and wait for long developing routes to happen. USC is going to try and run the ball and get the passes out quickly. I'd imagine we'll see the pocket moving a bunch as well. For USC to have success, I think they're going to have to sustain long drives and that typically entails being able to run the ball well. I just can't see TA going man/man all game long with USC's talent at QB/WR, seems like it would even the playing field with our advantages in the trenches.

So why didn't he do that versus Michigan or Minnesota?

I think he thought he could get away with it. Michigan's defense is not what it was last year. And Minny is Minny. Somewhat arrogant of LR? Probably.

But with hype (+metrics to back it up) of Carter, DDS, and Durant, I just can't think USC is going let Moss drop 5-7 steps back and think he'll have ample time to find an open receiver down the field.

We're going to see the Bowling Green, Illinois, UCLA model. Quick tosses, counter plays etc. Just hope it doesn't take an entire half for the D to adjust
Counter plays are a key part of their offense so this wouldn't be anything new. I would guess we'll give them those underneath throws all day and keep everything in front of us. Maybe they make a mistake. Worst case, they get to the redzone, everything becomes more compact and we bring more pressure.

I don't think people realize how bad USC's OL is.

I was sure we would eat him alive after watching the Michigan game..I was ready to eat my hat by half-time. Without reviewing the tape, I STILL have no idea how they kept Moss off his ass. That being said, I swear Is saw EGREGIOUS missed holding calls every time he stepped back to pass!

1. A lot of quick passes.
2. They ran the ball more than usual and were successful at it.

They found some success when we played zone and they could sit down in a few open spaces. Otherwise, Moss was ineffective. 220 yards passing was minimal. Their defense sold out to play the run. It was apparent that we anticipated this before the game started because we didn't really try to pound the ball and instead opted to pick them apart through the air - something they hadn't been exposed to so far this year.

They had the one long run, otherwise they were mostly bottled up and forced to drive the length of the field. When we played man, Moss panicked and made poor decisions.

They have a good running back and he made some plays. They are a different team at home in the coliseum and this was the best they've played all year with their backs against the wall.

We're a WR and LB away from being a great team. Need to find a way to keep getting better.

Their one Tackle was starting one second early every play as well which was bs. Coaches gotta recognize that and call out the refs.
