Very proud after reading the article. As an aside, I missed calling the most amazing man I've ever known yesterday, to give my annual "thank you for your service". He left us in March, so instead I called my mother, and his wife, and talked with her for awhile.

Just don't tell Wissler he's a "former Marine." I work with quite a few retired Marines, and they'll all tell you there's no such thing as an ex-Marine.

I once was having dinner with an older gentleman who told me he spent time in the Marines when he was younger. I said, "Oh, I didn't know you used to be a Marine!" He said, "Son, there is only one former Marine, and his name was Lee Harvey Oswald."
