I hope you're right. A lot might depend on Carter's status. It's not just because of how good he is, it's because of depth. How many downs can Vanover play?

We've been in more games that were close late than they have...
The only games they've been tied or trailed in the 4th quarter are A&M and NIU weeks 1 and 2. Outside of those, the only two teams that were ever within 1 score with a chance to tie in the 4th were USC and Louisville.

In the absence of any external factor, I would take PSU 31 - 17. It’ll be interesting to see if the rumors about sickness on both teams has any legs and how that potentially impacts the game.

As good no, but USC and Minnesota aren't bad teams. Minnesota's run D is better than ND's.
I don't think ND has stepped onto the field with anyone as good as us in any game considering the QB issues both of their CFP opponents faced.

Don't think that's true. It moved briefly towards us when the flu stuff was circulating for ND then moved back to -1.5.
we have to do a lot better on the short crossing patterns. We made Madsen of Boise state look like an all American with his passing. ND doesn't normally have much of a long passing game they just drink and dunk their way down the field. Our dline might not be able to get to Leonard because they don't hold the ball that long in the passing game
We were daring Madsen to beat us. He couldn't. They had one big play in which King got lost. Can't afford that today bit if we take away Love and their run game I'm fine with Leonard having decent numbers. Can't stop everything.
