Police and AD at their practice.

Per Twitter. Flood said after he expects to coach Saturday. Others are having doubts now.

I interpret the police presence as a security safeguard in the event the players rally behind Flood or he flips out upon learning that he's history.

I know some people here like to bust on Rutgers but that whole situation seems like it's being way overblown. Cops at practice? Come on.

It's just the socialist state of NJ where there is a constant police presence in safer areas like Piscataway. Basically where people will actually pay the fines. Rutgers Newark or Camden campuses, not so much.

Culture!!! Culture!!! Conspiracy of silence!! They all knew!!! The coach, the AD, the president, the student body, the fans....they all knew!!! How can you root for or support in any way a culture of that much silence???

Culture = Cult. Rutgers has a culture of silence and cover-ups. Shame!!! Shame!!! Shame!!!

Multiple Rutgers football players arrested

Five current Rutgers football players, including the cornerback in the center of a university-led investigation into coach Kyle Flood, were charged Thursday with assaulting a group of individuals, including one student whose jaw was broken during the unprovoked attack, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Anthony A. Caputo, director of the New Brunswick Police Department, announced.

The current Rutgers players charged in the attack were identified as: Ruhann Peele, 22, and Nadir Barnwell, 20, both of Piscataway; Rahzonn Gross, 20, of Franklin Park, and Delon Stephenson, 22, and his brother, Daryl Stephenson, 23, both of Sayreville. Daryl Stephenson, also a former student at Rutgers, remains at large.

Barnwell is the player in the center of the investigation of Kyle Flood, with the university looking into whether the Rutgers football coach broke school policy by contacting a professor regarding Barnwell's grades. The junior cornerback was declared academically ineligible in the spring, according to two school officials.

Here is the press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office:

Nine of the 10 defendants were arrested today. One remains at large. The arrests stem from an active and continuing investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office and the New Brunswick Police Department.

The investigation began last spring when police were called to a home invasion on Prosper Street in New Brunswick on April 26, 2015 at 11:29 p.m., after three masked men forced their way into the home and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and marijuana from five students at gunpoint.

During an intensive investigation, police arrested Tejay Johnson, 23, of Egg Harbor. The former student was charged with robbery, criminal restraint, theft, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

As the investigation continued, police linked Johnson to a home invasion on Hartwell Street in New Brunswick on April 27, 2015.

Police determined that Johnson and Andre Boggs, 20, of Coatesville, Pa., forced their way into the home and, armed with a bat and a knife, robbed a student of approximately $900 and an undisclosed amount of marijuana.

They were arrested today on charges of robbery, burglary while armed, and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.

Another student, Dylan Mastriana, 19, of Rio Grande, also was charged with those counts after the investigation determined that he helped plan the robbery.

In a third home invasion, Johnson and Boggs were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and attempted burglary while armed for trying to force their way into another student's room in a dormitory complex at Livingston College in Piscataway on May 5, 2015.

The same charges also were filed against Mastriana, Jianan Chen, 19, of New Brunswick, and Kaylanna Ricks, 20, of Perth Amboy. The investigation showed that Mastriana and Chen planned the robbery, while Ricks drove Johnson and Boggs in a getaway vehicle.

Johnson and Boggs entered the dorm, but fled when the students targeted in the robbery resisted by closing and locking the door to their room as Johnson and Boggs attempted to force their way in. Nothing was stolen in that incident.

Police further determined that Johnson was one of six individuals who surrounded a group of at least four other individuals, including a Rutgers student, and assaulted them during an incident on Delafield Street on April 25, 2015.

The six were charged today with aggravated assault, riot, and conspiracy to commit a riot. A 19-year-old male student suffered a broken jaw during the unprovoked attack.

In addition to Johnson, defendants charged in the attack were... full story: http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/index.ssf/2015/09/multiple_rutgers_football_players_arrested.html

I was saying the email to a professor about a grade was overblown and the statement stands. Your link is about another matter altogether.
My matter is on the topic of the thread. Not sure what you're talking about. The thread is about police at today's Rutgers practice. My link is about police at Rutgers practice. One of us is confused, but it's not me.

My issue with Flood and emailing the professor is that it was done from a personal account, which creates a legitimate cloud of suspicion that he knew darn well what he was doing was a) unethical and b) against the rules. Having said that, if it was an isolated incident, I doubt it is something a guy should lose his job over although sanctions of some variety would seem appropriate.

Delany's dilemma continues and worsens. Cable box college joining the B1G was an awful decision. They contribute nothing but negativity, hate and low budget side shows. Dragging down the B1G every day.

Just discovered this... (You have insufficient privileges to post here.) When I went to see the meltdown on the RU board. Geez, I didn't even post anything negative! Talk about being thin skinned! I may have to schedule a couple extra sessions with my therapist! ;)

Sorry bud but it is you. No doubt it was a weird morning at Rutgers but your OP implied Flood could possibly be gone by Saturday and all the talk lately has been about the email. Your "as you were saying?" reply was condescending as you really had no idea the police were there for players and not Flood. I suppose your vagueness gives you an out.

They can't handle the heat and cleanse that board multiple times a day. It could be something you said on another board like BWI. They monitor that too!

Awful program; worse people. Their athletic department is already swimming in red. Now we see the thug-mentality and corruption.

Huge mistake by the B1G admitting this clown-show of a university.

Let's all keep one thing in mind. When we were going through the worst of the Sandusky Scandal, what group of fans gave us their unwavering support? What group of fans said "Let's not rush to judgment here." What group of fans condemned the NCAA actions and spoke so highly of Joe and his legacy? I will tell you. It sure as hell wasn't Rutgers fans. What goes around comes around.

Just imagine what Hack is going to do to that makeshift secondary?!?!?! Bahahahaha, duck and cover, Rutgers, duck and cover. It's going to be painful.

At no point did I think police were at practice for Flood. Since when is what he did criminal? I waited to see what they were there for, but it was clear it wasn't to see how their special teams were preparing. You were the one who assumed it was for Flood, not me. You jumped the gun with your comment. Anyway, i don't care. Leave me be and let me continue to rip on Rutgers, I take so much joy in others misery, don't ruin this for me.
