Well, bjf, we were real tough on Walker last night

Gotta give him credit tonight. Two HR's and four hits. Hope he's turend it around.
I was thinking the same thing. Also, tonight, like last night, reinforces my belief that when the Pirates make the playoffs, and they will, they have as good a chance to win it all as anyone. This is a good baseball team. They have the 2nd best record in the NL and the 4th best in baseball. They can play with anyone, including the Cards, who tanked last year against an inferior Giants team. I no longer worry about the ups and downs. All I care about is making the playoffs and there is no way this team will be denied.

Those home runs avoid that messy problem they had last night of leaving a gazillion guys on base.

I still wonder what could have been had the Pirates started Cole in the

Agree with everything you said. As it stands right now Cole,Liriano, and Burnett would match up well with anybody in the playoffs. I would like to see the Pirates get another reliever that you could depend on in the 7th inning to get you to Watson and Melancon.

Last year I was nervous about this team. This year I am confident. I know it's crazy but I still think we can win the Division. There are 85 games left, more than enough to catch those cheating Redbirds.

No doubt. Good for him......and if he can have a second half in line with what he did at the plate last year, it would really help the club. Maybe this game will be a spark......things like that have happened before.

I certainly hope he does turn it around.......but I just have a bad feeling that a guy with so many back issues at such a young age is not likely to have a very long "prime". I do think he is not long for Pittsburgh - given the costs that will be involved next year.......but it sure would be nice for all concerned if he could put together a nice second half run for a team that should at least make the post-season. That way he would at least go out on a high note.
