Years ago, the Steelers devised a defense where Troy Polumulu played by himself. They effectively played with a ten man defense and Troy deployed where he read the offense and just created havoc. There was no way to game plan for where he might show up and that made the offense very difficult to run.
I can see that with Abdul Carter. Not only can they play him at LB or DE, they can deploy him at OLB or MLB. Plus, on the left or the right. The alignment would depend on film study and the personnel package the O puts into the game. Should be fun to watch!
