is the fact that they thought beating us on the field in their long-prayed for rematch would have great existential meaning far beyond a mere win. They thought that beating us on the field would predict that their season would turn out better than ours.

Wrong. Hope they have time to watch the Rose Bowl.

They thought that by beating us, they vault ahead of us in the world of recruiting, particularly locally.

Wrong. Really wrong, in fact. Lamont says hi.

They thought that by beating us, it would lead to and be predictive of the beginning of the end of James Franklin.

Whoa. Really wrong. Coach of the Year, indeed.

They won the game, the battle if you will, and yet we continue to win the war. The war that really only they are fighting, since we've Moved On (sorry to use that phrase).

And in the future, it's not getting any better for them.

Pitt didn't beat us..we beat ourselves! Hell, we gave them 17 pts on a platter and they still needed a dropped TD and a bad play call at the end to win. I can't wait for Sept 9th at the Beav....

How quickly they forget that prior to the season Pitt was favored by 9. They thought Penn State would suck and would always be 4th in the B1G east. Fast forward a few months and they are just thankful for hanging on for dear life in a 42-39 victory. Imagine if that's all you had in about 40 years

I really do not think too many Pitt fans believed this. Oh sure you will find a handful but most that know the program know the history of failings and believe it is a process. It starts with winning your division, then getting bigger bowls and then eventually getting people in the stands. If there was a game that I thought would boost recruiting the it would be the Clemson game. I am sure both of those wins had some impact but not a giant leap like a few expected. You guys landed a big time recruit from our backyard and Congrats for that. I had heard safety? I hope you keep in at corner because I feel he is that good. Looking forward to our game next year
