What kind of blackmail evidence does Fina have over Seth Williams?

Trying to figure out why Seth Williams hasn't fired Fina yet. It's obvious Fina owns Seth. Any ideas what Seth is hiding that Fina holds the keys to?
It sure perplexes me, too, and it seems impossible that Seth is really just bumbling around as his reputation gets burned down like a Washington State forest, but even at times like this when it seems there HAS to be some blackmail, there may not be.

If the simplest explanation is the best, it just may be that Seth does not understand how bad this makes him look, or how badly he is being hurt. He just may not get it. Seems amazing, I know, but he has had a long time to come up with a plan and if this is his plan it sure looks a lot like "Do nothing and hope for the best."

That may well be correct.

If so, Seth is truly unfit for that office.

IMO it is much more simple. Williams and Fina are close personal friends. That's why Fina was hired. How common is it for one of the highest ranking deputy AG's in the state to go to work as a county deputy DA? Very uncommon and in this case it occurred because of the relationship. Politicians like to surround themselves with people who are loyal to them personally. That is why Williams does not want to cut Fina loose. I have said this before - although Fina will probably resign soon, Williams hope likely is that he can put this scandal out of the media spotlight by saying he is investigating, then let it sit for a month or two in the hopes the indignation wears off, and then announce that although he does not condone the e-mails since they did not occur in his office he does not feel it appropriate for him to take action. Could be way off base but that is how I see this going down and I would say there is a 49% chance Fina keeps his job.

You make an important point, I think.

Can you tell us what that friendship is based on?

Two typical zero-principle, narcisisstic, chum-bucket lawyers who believe "their own self-interested ends are more important than the means" and "win at all cost regardless of means" (e.g., the diametric opposite of "The Golden Rule") - IOW, they have zero respect for the "rule of law" or the "principles" and "integrity" of our judicial system they have sworn to uphold via "the bar".... Just liars, thieves and whores dressed in fancy clothes and trappings but scumbags all the same (ditto Corbutt, "Little Turd" Kenny, Douche'andrea, "Sellout" Jake, etc...).

If you went to school with Seth, you would know he's: as black as Kenny (both are faux black if you haven't figured that out yet so Chicken jokes are most likely humorous to him too), b) always playing games with every issue and trying to 'win' regardless of ethical considerations, and c) behind Fina so far because he's his guy so he will say "its troubling" and then wait for it to blow over as he prepares for his next political office. He's not going to make Fina an issue until he has to and only then will it be "troubling and the accusations deemed political" etc.

True snake and its telling how connected Seth is to some of our BOT, going back a long way.

That, I do not know and am also curious about. I have heard that Costanzo is the mutual connection as he and Fina worked together in the AG's office and Costanzo had a long history in the Phila DA' s office, although his time there pre-dates Williams. But it seems the three are now tied together.

That's a good possibility.

Although I'm not sure why anyone would think they could wait it out? With Kane's trial ahead there's no chance it falls off the front page.

It's more likely Fina(and possibly Williams) has decided to play the angle that Kane kept others that got caught doing the same thing. That's why there was a story about someone involved in the scandal getting a raise from Kane right as the emails were released.

I'm not sure how Williams can look himself in the mirror every morning with Fina on his payroll? Forget the racist email for a moment, the others are so offensive nobody will take him seriously ever again if Fina isn't fired.

If Fina had any respect for Williams, and the commonwealth as a whole, he would have resigned already.

I agree with you, LT, in that I am surprised Fina has not resigned. The fact he has not has me thinking the strategy is to try and wait it out.
