What long suffering professional team would you like to see win a title? Those that haven't won in over 30 years. I can think of two Philadelphia teams right away and one Pittsburgh team and feel free to write in any not on the list.

Apologies to those that merit honorable mention:

Denver Nuggets, 1967; St. Louis Blues, 1967; Phoenix Suns, 1968; San Diego Padres, 1969; Buffalo Sabres, 1970; L.A. Clippers, 1970; Utah Jazz, 1974; Seattle Mariners, 1977, San Diego Chargers, 1963 (AFL); Toronto Maple Leafs, 1967; New York Jets, 1968; Kansas City Chiefs, 1969; Milwaukee Bucks, 1971; Miami Dolphins, 1972; Indiana Pacers, 1973 (ABA); New York Knicks, 1973; New Jersey Nets, 1976 (ABA).

Going off the board and saying Chiefs. I rooted for the Eagles as a kid but they deserve everything that happens to them. They make endlessly absurd, brainless front office decisions. So do the Browns so I can't vote them either. Cubs, maybe, and only so I don't have to hear endlessssly about goats and Bartman and all their other shtick.

I'd like to see the Browns, Lions or Bills. All three are non-glamorous cities from the rust belt that have been losing out for a long time. All have endured a long drought of winning any title other than the Cavs the other day and frankly I can't get all that excited about an NBA or NHL title, although perhaps people in Cleveland feel differently.

And in addition to losing a lot, Browns fans suffered the indignity of the team leaving (and then winning two Super Bowls in their new city). At least the Lions made the playoffs a couple years ago and the Bills have gotten close recently (and 25 years ago the Bills went to the Super Bowl four straight times). When is the last time the Browns even sniffed the playoffs? And they're not going to do it this year either. Talk about long suffering fans.

I remember a guy in college that was a Browns fan and a guy that was a Steelers fan used to taunt him about how many Super Bowls the Steelers had won and I felt sorry for the guy back then and here we are decades later and the Browns still haven't done anything or even come close. Geez, the poor damn Browns fans have it tough.

Write-in vote for the St Louis Blues (you do at least have them in the "Honorable Mention" list....or is it "Dishonorable Mention")

My next vote would be for the Detroit Lions

Well, I've always liked the Cubs, so if it's not going to be the Nationals, then I hope it's the Cubs. Steve Bartman, that poor son-of-a-bitch, could then show his face.

I couldn't care less about the NBA. The NHL is okay but who wins the Stanley Cup isn't a big deal to me. That leaves MLB and the NFL. To me the NFL is too regimented. The "No Fun League" moniker is deserved. So a player doesn't have his socks pulled up?? Fine him!! Unapproved headband?? Fine him!! The NFL doesn't want anyone including the players making a dollar which could be going to the league office instead. So who wins the Super Bowl isn't a big deal. The NFL is simply entertainment to me.

So that leaves MLB. Years ago my answer would have been the Red Sox but they won some World Series so they're off the list. Today the choice would be the Cleveland Indians with a tip of my hat to Bill Veeck even though he was the owner for only a short period of time.

Philly born and raised, and would like to see the Eagles, but I gave my vote to the Vikings. I now live in MSP, and these fans deserve a champion to celebrate. The Vikes should make a good run this year, all depends on how much progression we'll see out of Bridgewater.

Yeah, or the Eagles. It must be kinda hard to be the only team in the NFC East without at least three Lombardi Trophies. I never gave it any thought until just now and, yeah, that would definitely eat at me if they were my team.

Detroit is a city on life support. It will never return to the glory days of the early 1950's, but a Super Bowl title could be the spark it needs to set it on a path to happier times.

Grew up outside Chicago - actually Bartman is from my hometown - Cubs all the way. Chicagoland would go insane if they won.

Before 2004, I would have given anything for a Red Sox -Cubs world series so I voted for the Cubbies. As a Mets fan, I guess we owe them for 1969.

I hope the Cubs lose for another 100 years. Lived in Chicago north side for 8 years and couldn't stand their dopey, annoying fans. On the other hand, if they do win, maybe they'll finally shut up with their l "It's gonna happen!"

Been a 16 month drought for New England sports fans:)
I voted Cubbies in poll. Damn Grady Little and Bartman
or we might have had that 03 matchup

Sports is not objective, it's personal..... So for me, hands down it is the Philadelphia Eagles.

>> I was born in 1965, in Reading PA. Being from Reading, all my PRO sports teams were Philly teams. My college team was Penn State. So by the time I was 17 years old I got to personally witness EVERY one of my teams win it's respective championship --- EXCEPT the Eagles. The Flyers won the Stanley Cup in 1974 and again in 1975 when I was just 9-10 years old. The Phillies won the 1980 WS, when I was just 15. Penn State came thru and won the championship in 1982 and the Sixers finally won the NBA Title in 1983, when I was just 16-17 years old.

So by the time I was barely 17 years old, I THOUGHT that this whole thing of seeing my favorite teams win championships was like a "given". Here I am 30+ years later and the Eagles still have not won a Super Bowl.

Apologies to those that merit honorable mention:

Denver Nuggets, 1967; St. Louis Blues, 1967; Phoenix Suns, 1968; San Diego Padres, 1969; Buffalo Sabres, 1970; L.A. Clippers, 1970; Utah Jazz, 1974; Seattle Mariners, 1977, San Diego Chargers, 1963 (AFL); Toronto Maple Leafs, 1967; New York Jets, 1968; Kansas City Chiefs, 1969; Milwaukee Bucks, 1971; Miami Dolphins, 1972; Indiana Pacers, 1973 (ABA); New York Knicks, 1973; New Jersey Nets, 1976 (ABA).

No city has suffered longer than San Diego since the Chargers in 63. Need to remove Padres in 69 above.

My vote is for the Lions. As for the Cubs, after the way they treated Bartman, they don't deserve to win a championship for another 100+ years.

The Dolphins also won in 1973 (1974 Super Bowl vs. Vikings).

Normally, I would be all in for the Pirates. However, I have no pressing desire to see this team win a championship in it's current composition. IMHO, this is not anything at all like the championship teams of the past. Uh Uh.

Maybe if/when they have a real team I will be all in again.

I was not alive then and AFL is far cry from NFL of today. City of Nashville has not had anything like that and deserves it. Even if we include the 60's...we are still talking what 55-60 years ago.

You'd think so, but Red Sox fans went from lovable losers to annoying front-runners in the blink of an eye, so if you think they're bad now, I wouldn't hold my breath that things will get better post-championship.
