First, hats off to Chambers he identified Carr more than two years ago, while recruting Shep, and just pursued Carr with a relentless attitude from them till now. Chambers did an excellent job with Carr's family and with Team Final. I was told a little bit ago that Carr was "heavy" on the idea of going to PSU to build something and that it could end sooner rather than later. Give Chambers a ton of credit, he took a Bostick commitment to make the haul of Carr/Stevens a huge possibility, and it panned out. Carr is the crown Jewel of this class, make no mistake about it.

Second, this commitment puts the pressure on Stevens to figure out what he wants to do. Originally, its was thought that both of them were to to "wait it out" take visits and then go from there. But Carr felt comfortable enough to make the commitment today. Now Lamar Stevens knows where Carr is going, so it is up to him to decide. In no way does this commitment ensure a Stevens commitment, but it will go a long way to help. Lamar is "enamored" with the thought of Indiana, and I expect IU to be on his final list of three, with Penn State, and possibly Temple or another school. Some of the schools that were recruting both as a package will likely not be considered too much. I expect when all said and done it will be either IU or PSU and I think PSU has the advantage in that with Carr and Bostick already committed.

Third, Chambers has now landed the top Philly player twice in four years, give him a ton of credit. The Carr commitment will allow him to recruit classes coming up, knowing they have a top PG coming in, players want to play with other good auers. Carr will have the ball from day one!

PSU gets a leader, mature PG, a good slasher, and a player who sees the floor very well. Carr finishes well at the basket and can score when needed, he is a true PG. He still needs to work on his jump shot, but it has improved. All in all a great day for PSU basketball.
