The ones I'm familiar with are Centre for Travel and Thompson Tours. Any others? Anyone have experience booking a bowl trip through a travel agency?
Thank you in advance.

Been to numerous bowl games and your best bet is booking everything on your own.

For Rose Bowl, get tickets through PSU (If NLC member and can get them). From past 2 Rose Bowls I've attended, tickets through PSU were much cheaper than secondary market. Many other times I've found secondary market to be much cheaper than through PSU (B1G Championship, Citrus, etc.)

To stay focused on Rose since that's where PSU is likely headed (unless Wisc. keeps it close and stays ahead of PSU this weekend). Try to get flights into Las Vegas and make the drive over to Cali. Flights will be much cheaper and drive isn't too bad.

psutixman.com is my go to for tickets. Guy always has something good...never charges extra add on fees like stubhub or crap like that, and always has fair prices.

IIRC, the PSAA often offers a package to the bowl game. I can't vouch for prices but I recall seeing emails in the past. I have no idea if they have any plans this year.

Went to two bowls with Centre for Travel. They were very expensive. Went to 4 bowls on my own. I did a lot more for a lot less. Buy your ticket through PSU. Find out where there tour is staying and find a hotel nearby. When PSU was in the Fiesta Bowl. We did the game, Sedona, Grand Canyon & Los Vegas for less than the tour.

I think it was Prime Sports that did the Rose Bowl package a few years ago. They were excellent and I really liked not having to worry about making any arrangements on my own. Loved staying at the team hotel.

Just curious: why would you book through an agent?

It is so easy to book flights/hotels online and find tickets online. You may not even need a rental car due to uber/lyft.

Some prefer to trade cost for convenience, which I certainly understand. Just not how my frugal self operates though.

I'm nearly to that point and looking to compare options. If we were going to the Cotton or Orange Bowl, I'd book everything myself. With the Rose Bowl, be nice to see the Parade and have everything taken care of.

If I flew into Las Vegas, the Fiesta Bowl depending on the game (5 hours) and the Grand Canyon (2.5 hours) are both tempting. Quite a bit of logistics with all that though. Fly to Phoenix then? A good bit to consider.

I appreciate all the info and advice. Thank you.

Prime was expensive but we didn’t have to worry about one thing. We got our tix through NLC.

Yep. It was super-convenient. Chartered flight from Harrisburg to LAX. Dropped our bags at the airport in Harrisburg and didn't see them again until the hotel room in LA. They took care of everything - travel to/from airport, travel to the game. It also included the parade, the tailgate, bus transportation for sightseeing while in LA, New Year's eve event, lunch on the flights, hotel snacks, and some Rose Bowl gifts. It was expensive but I have no regrets.

If money is no object, and you want to avoid crowds, might I suggest GAMBOTO (Gambit Bowl Tours)? Our tour buses are never crowded and we give you a lunch box lunch (you get to keep the lunch box!) on the day of the game. If you are interested, have your people call my people. :)

What happened to Colegiate Athletic Tours (CAT)? We went to quite a few bowl tours with them and were very impressed with their cost and quality.

Dear Fair,

Something tells me that your buses (I'm assuming that's just one example of a large fleet)...are...are...I'm sorry I just get so excited thinking this...are team blue bus hand me downs. Would this be true? Are these Paterno era buses? Maybe the Engle era? Could I reserve the same front seat coach Paterno rode in? I understand there probably would be a premium but what the heck its only money!

Thank you for asking "10". Your questions are good ones and deserve honest answers. And so you shall have them. Soon. But first, send $10,000 in small, unmarked bills, to Gambit Bowl Tours and It will reserve the two best seats (I trust you are traveling with a companion) available, as shown below. As for who sat in them.....um....well....have your people call my people.:)

I'd look at Orange County (John Wayne), Burbank, or Long Beach as airport options as well. Depending on where you are flying out of, those could be better options. Burbank would be the best IMHO. Flying in/out of Vegas is a good idea but pick the wrong day/time and your 4 hour drive could easily be 8 hours--either due to heavy traffic or a wreck or weather or all three.
