Lots of good heavy action this weekend, anyone have any insight as to Cassars health and possibility of return for a bid at the last chance qualifier?

Wait, Gable is retiring? Is that a joke?
His sights have been on a big WWE contract for some time, I think. Not sure how he'll feel about retiring after Kerk/AC/Parris/Gwiz takes him out at trials though... ;-)

I like Cassar but he beat Gable when Gable was a pudgy boy and Cassar was a grown man. Gable has transformed his body completely. I'd be surprised if Cassar would ever win against him again. Cassar better go to 205 in mma. He'd be way too small as a hw. Is only chance would be to wrestle**** them to death. I want to see his stand up oh and especially Bo's. I have a feeling he'll be back to wrestling by 2024 lol

Gable was originally crowned, as a can't miss, undefeated, 4 time nation champion, before he stepped on the Minnesota campus. He was #1 and undefeated heading into the B1G 2019 tournament. AC was an under-recruited NJ prospect, whom didn't even qualify for the NJ State tournament his first three years. He only became a starter in the 2018-19 season, while wrestling as a 197 in the 2017-2018 season as a backup. Very few thought AC had any chance to beat Gable once in the 2018-2019 season, let alone twice. Lots of grown men lost to pudgy Stevenson prior. AC earned every bit of those two wins, and now, there is a chance, that we see Steveson as a 0 time National Champion

Steveson outweighed Cassar by 29.6 lb. That likely wasn't all fat.

I have to wonder how Cassar vs Kerkvliet would go, if Cassar was healthy.

Kerkvliet probably has 2-3" on him, and 15-20lbs. That reach of Kerkvliet's looks a mile long.

I have a feeling both of their MMA careers would be better than your troll attempts.
First sentence Cassar only won because Gable was pudgy. Next sentence Cassar isn't big enough to compete against the pudgy guys.

Watching that match makes me even more appreciate a wrestler who goes out, wrestles hard for 7 minutes if needed and snaps his opponents body through the mat, a Winn Dixie or two, gets his hand risen then quietly places his ankle bands on the mat. No showboating just domination with class.

I don't buy into the idea that Gable "completely transformed" his body in the course of a year.

Also, wow, imagine getting beaten by OSU 23-9. Ouch.

It works if you marry one called Maddie or Lexi. These women are smart, attractive and athletic.

These guys are smart, the found great partners. Why mess up perfection.

I feel that if G.Kerklivet does not shirt Steveson will not win 1 national championship.

Parris looks awfully good too. He really let's it rip too--far more so than Gable does. Hope we can see all 3 in some kind of folkstyle season this year--but trials are gonna be bananas.

Didn't Kerkvliet already redshirt last season? Besides, with the free year coming up why would ANYONE redshirt?

IDK for sure. The in-conference transfer from tOSU was confusing to me.

Possible Olympic shirt.

IDK why a NCAA championship contending wrestler would, unless perhaps they want to focus 100% on freestyle and Olympics.

Regardless, I was simply responding to @tabenn 's hypothetical (not challenging it) to try and see whether I could correctly translate the negative statement to a corresponding positive one.

What’s with wrestlers getting engaged or married in college?

Lol I was thinking this too. My biggest question is how can they afford rings? Does the slush fund have that covered too? But to be fair Iowa has had a bunch of guys get married in college too.

Well, there are salary-based rules (one or two months). 2x a little isn't all that much. But seriously, I understand the youth today aren't really into material things. The days of registering for fancy dishes to put in a big cabinet are gone. Minimalism is in. And true love finds a way.

I dunno about this minimalism stuff. I saw an interview with Stevan Micic and he was buying like $200 T-shirts or something. But I guess he’s like 30 so not really “youth”
