Indeed I prefer the buns I enjoy to be nice and firm... not stale. Usually a nice golden tan bun is quite enjoyable over the holidays. If found I like to enjoy those buns several times over the holiday weekend maybe even several times a day. Give them a good squeeze for firmness and pick just the right one for my taste :D

I know there are lots of nice things to see in this thread but I'm still throwing a flag for the reference to Halle Berry's buns with no pic!
 
Depends on what you're putting on them. For your basic burger, I like a nice soft bun. Ball Park makes a good one. But if I'm putting smoked pork or brisket on a bun, I like an onion roll. I get them from my local Walmart or Redners bakery. I also like putting smoked meats on the sweet Hawaiin rolls. Nice marriage of sweet and savory.
