With all due respect, don't spend time worrying about it. If you want to educate yourself do some Googling.
Advertisers on TV use it as a tool to get you to buy their services. Dark web scanning for identity protection is ridiculous. The bottom line is that if someone wants to steal your credit card or identity it's going to happen in today's "connected" society. The best thing to do is monitor your credit report yourself (annualcreditreport.com), watch your statements, and use common sense when navigating around online.

Dark web is intranet and weird stuff not indexed by most web browsers. Like someone else said, TOR is a good browser. Basically your IP gets rerouted a bunch of times so that nobody can compare inputs/outputs and it’s hard to track. Regardless, there’s some bad stuff on there, so use proxies and mirrors and stuff to obscure your IP as much as possible. The FBI has still caught people, so it is possible to be traced.
And also get the scoop about who all the silent verbals are.

That's a bit much and way oversimplifying things. There's drug trafficking, political protests and illegal information on the "surface web" too.
was just watching Reelz tv. they say the inventor went to Texas and Penn State for grad work. Who know
