When I felt Fitzgerald lost control of the game, comparing coaching

Northwestern is the dirtiest team in the Big 10 year in and year out.Fitzgerald is the Eddie Haskell of coaches.Nice prim and proper to the public and media and a totally different person behind closed doors.

And you know this how? Are you in their closed meetings?

Signore I said before I have no life and watch more college football than 90% of the people on here. From watching NW for years they are the dirtiest team in the Big 10.A team is an extension of their coach in my opinion so I'm saying Fitz is no choir boy but gives the impression of one.Sorry if my opinion differs from yours on Fritzgerald. If a meeting is closed how could I get in?I have a lot of connections but absolutely none at NW.But I do have eyes and can see things thats how I get my opinion of someone. And for the record I'm a Wvu season ticket holder who loves college football.

Beats me, but I'm not the one saying I know what he is like behind closed doors. I assumed you had some basis for making such a statement but it seems you do not actually know what he's like behind closed doors either.

I don't feel strongly about Fitzgerald. He seems likable and good for Northwestern to me. If he's not, it's no skin off my back. I think about Northwestern for one week on the year's they play us and that's it.

Went back and watched the game again. Fitz was acting like a complete knucklehead all game. In the 1st quarter when Jackson nearly ripped off Apke's helmet by the facemask Fitz actually believed it was a bad call. At least I think that is what his jumping up and down and screaming like a two year old indicated.

He lost it when he signed off on the game plan to sell out to stop 26. Ask IU & Pitt how that worked out for them. Ferentz is the only one who got close, and it took an incredible atmosphere and off night by Trace to get there.

I'm going to disagree until you can show me a better plan based on the athletes on the NW roster.
If I'm in Fitz's position, I have the same plan. Try to gang up on Barkley and hope McSorley has an off day throwing in the wind. A poor day in the passing game, even with PSU's weapons, is always possible. (That percentage may be low, but it is possible.) On the other hand, giving Barkley 20 carries against the NW defense playing its standard scheme is a 200+ yards, 4 TD gashing for certain.
NW's only hope was to keep the score as low as possible. PSU's defense has too much speed. Those NW offensive players looked like they were running in cement shoes.
I'll be shocked if Michigan and Ohio State don't take the same approach, knowing they have better athletes on the back end than anybody PSU has played to date.
I look for JoMo to add some 5 wide to the game plan and force the defense to (a) play nickel with a deep safety and try to cover somebody with a linebacker, (b) play nickel without a safety deep, or (c) play 6 DBs and hope you can stop the run.
