I can't find anything on this site anymore. Too much wasted space with avatars and stats about views. It's like a newspaper to me, I only look above the fold. This board requres a ton of vertical scrolling, which while better than horizontal scrolling, still is annoying. I browsed site for new and information and conversation about OT as PSU football. I'll just go elsewhere now to find news.

Karen Peetz took it away. She wanted to try to stop the anti-BOT sentiment that exists here.

Yes, it does. You have to scroll almost to the midway point vertically before you find the first actual current post. Too much fluff up top and too many pinned posts. The pinned posts should be placed at the bottom of the board rather than at the top. They create too much clutter at the top. You access pinned posts very infrequently. The most frequently accessed information should be closer to the top of the board and less frequently accessed information toward the bottom.

I like the idea someone posted in another thread about being able to "close" the list of pinned threads to save the space. It somewhat defeats the purpose of having the threads at the top for visibility but there could be some visual indicator of new posts in those threads that would let you know to open the section.

I miss rotary dial phones.

Oh Jebuz. you guys act like this change "topic vs thread view issue" is some sort of technological milestone jump. It is nothing of the sort. It is a "preference", not an advancement. There are obviously many "advancements" under the sheets that make this new board faster and more responsive for loading on various platforms (targeted for mobile devises), but thread view vs topic view has absolutely nothing to do with those advances. It was simply a CHOICE to not program in the CHOICE of thread vs topic view. And many prefer thread view over topic view. Just like many prefer topic view over thread view. But neither of those preferences have anything whatsoever to do with technological advancement of message boards. So stop acting like it is.

Yes, it does have to do with technological advancement.

Websites were built to be optimized on desktop because that's where the traffic came from. Now, many websites are approaching/exceeding 50% mobile traffic. Guess what looked like crap on mobile? The old style.

Again, that has nothing to do with "technological" advancement. The choice of thread view could very well have been accommodated with no loss in performance for those that CHOSE to select topic view for their mobile devise.

Again, stop making sh!t up. It is NOT a technological advancement. It is a CHOICE to accommodate one group of customers, mobile customers, at the expense of another group of customers, those that primarily use desktop platforms.

Yes, you're absolutely right that it's a choice.......because very soon, the majority of visitors won't be people visiting from a desktop.......due to technological advancement.

Face it, you're going against the trend, and you'll soon be a minority. Quit whining and move on.

Rivals/Yahoo could have chosen to the route of a mobile app for the message boards.

I've honestly enjoyed this board more the past two days than I have in many years.

Dude I have almost 3500 posts on the lions247 'topic view' forum. T's not an issue of change at this point. Tolic view simply sucks (if you value your time, that is).

Again, I congratulate you on your forthcoming promotion. :)
