Where will you be for July 4?

Driving with my son from Charlottesville, VA to Phoenix starting July 2. Stopping for the 4th in Dallas to visit family and celebrate the holiday.

Call my family and me crazy, PSU87, we jump in at Ludington often when the water temps are in the upper 60's.. Water temp shrinkage like George Costanza. Now, on Hamlin Lake the dunes to the north end run down in to the water. Sounds much like the sandbar discussed in other posts. Temps off the pontoon are in the low 80's. Very comfortable and relaxing.

Back in the day, living in NEPA, I was into water skiing. Used to hit Beltsville state Park in early May when the water temps were high 50s. Now that I live in Florida, I can't take anything below 80!

back in the day , I skied at Beltsville, mostly though we skied the Auburn dam.

I practically lived there. Boating, fishing, skiing, swimming and I was a Park Ranger there for 3 summers.....skiing Beltzville on weekends was taking your life in your hands
I think that's why we only went there once!!

The Big Empty. Near Marfa, TX.

If you like that area of Texas you should see the movie Fandango with Kevin Costner (early in his career) - a lot of scenes with that area of Texas including the Big Bend part of Texas. "A night in Marfa ain't so bad"

In my backyard swimming pool outside New Orleans. Chillin' and grillin' with my main squeeze.

And me, I'm flying in my taxi
Taking tips, and getting stoned
I go flying so high, when I'm stoned

Don't know how long this has been at the bottom of your posts or if you ever got an answer:

NEW QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who lives at 16 Parkside Lane?

Looking for a "First" name only.

Answer : Sue

Have a Great 4th of July everyone!

Hanging out at home till dusk, then I have a venue with a friend who has a gathering at his place for a good view of the 4th Fest show in SC. Been doing it for years, through rain, bad storms, nice nights, few people showing up, etc. We talk about "Remember the year..." all the time. Family always goes. Good deal. One night we rescued a snapping turtle, one night the 14 year old this year was a baby in somebody's lap, etc.

Since this Board is largely anonymous, my guess is that revealing you will be away from home on July 4 is no big risk.

Where are you planning to be for the Fourth? Do you have a family tradition in that regard?

BTW, Happy July 4th to you!

Unfortunately in Malmö, Sweden for work. I guess it's herring instead of burgers and dogs.

With my in-laws in Jacksonville, Illinois, celebrating my wife's birthday.

WHEW! There for a moment, I thought you were gonna say you were coming to Jacksonville, Florida. I'd have to refill my Xanax Rx if that were true.:D

I'm gonna start the day like I have since 2008. I'm gonna wake up, make my coffee and try to wrap my head around what our forefathers did. I still can't figure it out.

Then, I'm gonna spend the rest of the day trying to get laid.

Northland Parade in the am and at wife's cousin in evening in beautiful downtown Ostrander.....

I am probably the only other person on the board who knows where Ostrander is as well as know people who live in that area. My wife and daughter used to do dog agility training near there with the 2 Cavaliers we had at the time.

Sugarloaf Golf Course and a few beers back in Danville after I struggle on the course.

The first time I met Annika, I explained where I was from and mentioned Danville and Frosty Valley (and Jerry McGee) and her ears perked up and her husband Mike came over. Led to an IMG deal w/ them (short-lived unfortunately).

Literally, heading to a cabin in MN with my wife's family (35+ under one roof). Figuratively, crawling into a bottle.

Frosty was recently sold. Heard they have to stay open for 7 years. They let a golf mgmt company run them the last
few years and it drove them into the ground. Had to bail to stay open. We have had 2 public close in the last couple
of years. Not good courses. But, hey you could play(Cherokee and Liberty Valley). I'm hoping Frosty stays open and goes
public because it's the only course in town. Knoebels has spent a lot of money(Irrigation, great improvements on tee boxes
and hedges and other work to make it look better)on Three Ponds since they bought it. Looks great. I just don't like the course.
Nice drive to Sugarloaf, kind of relaxin and course looks great. Owner's son is the groundskeeper. And, he went to the
PSU Turf/management school.

I saw a facebook video of a putt on #15 @ Williamsport the other day. Greens look perfect and ridiculous at the same time. Just don't get above the hole or you'll need more than your putter to finish. Probably like that on 4 or 5 holes there now.

I will be celebrating freedom at my house and do not expect to drive more than absolutely necessary. If the weather cooperates I plan to exercise my Second Amendment rights at the State Game Lands range, going to see the Marshall Tucker Band in Greensburg tonight, and aside from that, plan on not doing a damn thing. It will be great!

@Mister Magoo I played Cherokee many, many times. It wasn't a bad public track and they had a few good holes. Very disappointed they closed. Sugarloaf is great - nothing like reviewing the round at the 19th hole on the back deck, watching the sun go down over the mountain. Nice course and the price is definitely right.

I am driving 10 hours north to get to that beautiful vacation spot, Budd Lake, NJ.

I'll be spending the 4th behind the wheel of a fire engine. No such thing as a holiday in the fire service!

You can see the sandbar top middle. Looks like rain the next few days down here. In that case, I'll be shooting pool w/ Yuengs and Wings at Kirby's.
