word is a significant injury. poor kid's been snakebit his whole career.
Word I have is Brands is benching him until B1Gs...no chance he has anything "significant" injury wise.

Exactly why in the world would Brands bench Assad? Because he got thrown and tried to fight off his back and was off when he got the pin called? Not like the kid gave up immediately and just laid there.
That's a really good way to inspire confidence, I'm not letting you wrestle again this season, not even against Penn State, I legitimately trust a backup 165 more than you.
Off the mat disciplinary issue? Could be, but I doubt that also. I haven't heard a bad thing about Abe Assad ever. He's in fact friends with a few guys on the PSU team (Howard, Bartlett) from their HS competition days.

Maybe he’s in Ames, at a top secret intensive “How to pin Aaron Brooks“ camp with Coleman.
Doubt it’s a discipline thing. He’s missed a couple duals and shooting a teammate only cost a dual in Iowa.
