Who can translate JoePa here?

WSU's all-time record vs. JoePa..... 2 wins - 25 losses. LMAO.
I can easily name the WV qbs who beat us off the top of my head: Jeff Hostetler (night game in Morgantown) and Major Harris (daytime beat down @ WV).

Your turn: can you name the PSU qbs? Don't worry about the game times.

Extra Credit: which West Virginian RB had a breakout game to lead their team to victory in the 1980 match up at New Mountaineer Field?

My father in law, who went to many away games, always said the worst fans he ever encountered were West Virginia fans. Spitting and throwing stones, especially at senior citizen fans were not uncommon.

I was in Morgantown for the '84 game. We l☹️st. Their fans were crazed. While exiting the stadium some guy ripped my PSU baseball ball cap from my head---despite it getting all caught up in my ponytail---threw it on the ground, stomped on it, and then he and several other guys circled around, "whipped theirs out" and proceeded to pee on it. Needless to say, never went back there again.

I made one trip to Morgantown, and it was one too many. You'll hear similar stories from other fan bases that have made the mistake of going there for an event. The reputation of their fans, much like their smell, proceeds them.

Shoulda pepper sprayed their little schnitzles.

Went to one Morgantown game, sat in student body….and had a blast. No problems other than normal jazz.

I was at the 1984 game (Hostetler). Those people are uncontrollable. If you haven't experienced it you won't comprehend how bad it can get.

[little schnitzles. lmao]

I think too, it depends on the billing and how big the game is. For example, if both teams are ranked, then the home team fans are extra hyped. It also depends what time of day and how much tailgating goes on beforehand. Unfortunately, I've seen "poor" fan behavior on both sides. I was at every PittvsPenn State game from the late 70s until we joined the B2G. Some of the atmospheres for those games were intense. But, for the most part, all a very good time. We Are!

Edit: I didn't hang around to see if they were big or little. lol.

The hillbillies are a broken clock who got it right a couple times in 30 years. Prior to this game Joe was 19-1 vs these clowns. They finally win and then can't control their hillbilly mob. No wonder Joe was pissed and rightfully wanted to get the hell out of there. Who knows what these hillbillies boozed up on grandpa's moonshine were going to do.

I remember being at Pitt in 1989…a powder keg! Thank God we won (a very tough game)

(Smile!) Been to so many that some of them sometimes run together. But, I like the fact that I can revisit lots of highlights of all kinds of games on YouTube, and often do.

Since you mentioned 1989 I looked it up. The only clip I could find were highlights of the Panthers' entire season. The PSU game is around the 14:14 to 15:48 mark. (No kidding, lol, just had to point out those memorable 1981 numbers.)

16 - 13 Enjoy:

Just so you know, we beat WVU in 1980. I was at that game.
