My heart would love to say Philly but I don’t think it will be.

A lot of people saying LA is a done deal with Paul George. I get it for his life after b-ball but that’s not a championship team which he apparently still wants to chase rings.

I’m thinking Houston or Boston find a way to get it done. Houston is the closest but guys are going to have to make some concessions. On the Boston side, Ainge is a wizard so I can’t put it past him.

I don’t follow the nba, but didn’t the other dude from Cleveland go to Boston in part to get away from King James? Why would he go there to reunite with someone he wanted to get away from?

As a Lakers fan, I'd def take him, but I think this team is better off waiting a year to let the young core develop and to try to sign Kawhi.

Lakers have 4 very interesting pieces to build around that are all very young and need a couple years to develop. I see them (w/ the addition of a superstar in FA) joining the convo of contenders circa 2020, not next year.

I bet he stays. His legacy is Cleveland. But I wouldn't be shocked if he leaves for la. I will be shocked if he leaves for Philly.... Especially after the colanglo disaster.

Will be shocked if he doesn't leave, likely for the Lakers. But it doesn't really matter. The Dubs will win again next year, too. Book it.

I'm 99% confident he leaves Cleveland.

I think Houston, maybe just on a one year deal (Opt in with Cavs then trade to Houston). Go unseat GS and win a title, then end his career as a Laker.

Philly and LA just don't make sense to me because they don't have the right type of pieces to compliment Lebron. LBJ needs shooters around him, and LA and Philly are lacking in the shooting category among their other top players.

Lebron needs the ball to maximize his and his teammates' game and I think that eliminates teams such as the Rockets (Harden, Paul), Celts (Kyrie, Hayward), Sixers (Simmons) that already have players that need the ball to be successful. The Warriors don't need help and the Clippers won't compete for several years. Likely landing spots could be Lakers, who would be competitive with another superstar to complement LeBron and a good young core of players with some potential.
My dark horse team is the Spurs, where Leborn would join the best coach ever Popovich, This would make a lot of sense if Kawhi Leonard stays and another superstar joins the party.

He doesn’t have a clear cut choice. There are pros but more importantly cons for each place. For me, the place that fits him best is Boston but that won’t happen. He’s never really had a great coach and he has made it known that he wants to play with smart players. Boston fits the bill but too much would have to happen.

If I were him, I’d go to LA. He will never surpass Jordan as the GOAT given MJ going 6-6 in titles. People will always point to his Finals failures and you simply won’t change their minds. Lebron should accept that his next challenge is world domination and that LA provides the best route for that.

While Lebron obviously wants to win world titles, I think his ultimate goal is to be an owner....I think his decision will have a lot to do with what he thinks is his best path to accomplish that goal. I don't have any idea which situation will help allow for that (maybe more marketing type $$ comes to him in NY or LA, but I don't know).

The problem with going to Philly, is that Simmons, Embid are not shooters (Simmons could develop) and Fultz does not seem to be a full shooter.. Relying on Reddick might seem a bit like relying on Korea to James.

Houston- could be his best chance to unseat the Warriors. Houston would have to totally gut its roster, but with Paul already being 33, it might be worth the gamble for Houston.

Boston- unless Kyrie is getting traded (which is possible I guess), I don't see this happening.

Lakers- Could be the most interesting. Problem is their PG can't shoot, so James handling the ball a lot hurts the offense. I like Ingrham, Kuzma is looking good and I like Randle. If you could bring in George with him, the team would be interesting. You would have to think that this could help James business interests being in such a big market.

For some reason, every time I see the title of this thread, I think of the “who does number 2 work for” quote from Austin Powers

I think he stays in Cleveland to try to sav his legacy there. He'll never be considered on Jordan's level because of the finals record. If he leaves Cleveland again I'd be surprised. Especially given the age of his two older kids--does he really want to move them now?

Houston makes sense if he leaves and he signs a one or two year deal. The Lakers make the most sense if he's looking for a deal to finish his career away from the Cavs.

I'd like to see him in SA or Minnesota personally...the West is infinitely better than the East IMO...might as well make it even stronger.

I'd love to see him play for Pop. If the Spurs were able to pair LBJ with Kawhi and LaMarcus Aldridge, they would be a very legit threat to the Dubs. Especially with Pop as their coach. That is one coach who Lebron clearly respects, and for whom he would play without trying to serve as de facto coach.

That logic would've led you to say he can't join Miami where Wade needs the ball a lot. Any team will find a way to adjust to give lebron what he needs.
