If Cassar can’t go, I predict Conel goes to heavy, Shak at 97. Buys time for AC to heal and/or decide decide if Nevills red shirt needs pulling.

I suppose it could happen, but after his last match at 197 the idea of Conel going 285 doesn't strike me as a good one for either the team or Conel.

I would personally be shocked if Conel ran out at heavy. I think we see the solution this weekend, one way or the other...if Seth is the answer, I believe he gets the shirt pulled
Are we sure is issues this year are his shoulder? I’ve seen a big knee brace and sluggishness in matches. Haven’t seen anything to indicate his surgically repaired shoulder is the issue.
It might not be but given his shoulder isn’t the issue, what’s the harm in running him out there for a couple of matches in a January and see how he does?
Did you not watch the Penn dual. He clearly injured his left shoulder badly. Wrestled the 3rd period with basically one arm.
Doubt Nevills will not be out there. I think we will either be trying to get Cassar healthy or Kerkvliet eligible. Hoopes should be the guy.
I honestly didn't even consider that tbh. NW could win 4 of the first 5 weight classes then be favorites at 197, 285.
That does include two 13 point majors from Cenzo and Mark. If we throw Hoopes out there I bet they know we need the points, but regardless, I doubt Cael is making any decision based on a matchup with Northwestern in January. I think he would lose that dual over pulling a redshirt needlessly or putting a compromised wrestler at risk (if that is where they deem Conel to be, which, at heavyweight with no other information, I would).
