Whether they be radio broadcasts or tv, who announced some of the great Penn State games over the years? Many games before the late 70's were either carried by radio or by a TCS type outfit. Did Chris Schenkle and Bud Wilkinson ever do a Penn St. game? They did all the big ones in the 60's and early 70's.

Ray Scott the long time voice of the GB Packers was the radio voice of PSU football between 1975 and 1981. Most certainly there were games in those years that you could characterize as great.

Steve Jones & Jack Ham
Fran Fisher & George Paterno
Fran Fisher & whoever
Ray Scott & whoever
Stan Savern

I forgot Ray Scott...he was the announcer losing his mind with "Penn State's the National Champion..."! he kept repeating it over and over. A great moment.

I used to like it when Keith Jackson did our games - OH Baby we got ourselves a barn burner here!

I think that was Fran Fischer in the radio booth at the 83 Sugarbowl.

We know the local guys but I am looking for individual games like Keith Jackson with Tim Brandt at Alabama in 86 or bowl games.

I don't remember any of the our games that he did but Keith Jackson was in a class of his own doing college football.

Ray Scott was teamed up with former Packers star Max McGee in the mid-70s.

Keith did the kickoff Classic in 2000 against USC - he also did a nice tribute to Joe when he passed.

I never knew who Al Michaels was until the 48-14 beating of Pitt. His voice resonated, and I felt certain he was going to be a name in the industry. I do not know who worked that game with Al, however.

Keith was great but Chris Shenkle and Bud Wilkinson were my number one. Many guys on this board never got to hear or see Chris and Bud. They did all of the games of the century. They announced the three greatest games of all time. I got to see both of the great college football broadcast teams and I think many of guys my age(53) and a little older might cast their lot with Chris and Bud.

I know Bill Fleming did that game so I doubt Michaels did color. Are you sure Al did that game?

I'm pretty sure it was Ray. May have been radio?
Not to be argumentative but I would bet significant money that it was Fran Fisher. the quote went something like this" Penn State's national champions, Penn State's the national champion, what a tribute to this football team, what a tribute to its coach. I don't remember if that is verbatim but I think it's pretty close.
