Let's settle this once and for all. Well, there is the ever-important third choice.

I started the other thread. And just to be clear. I NEVER said that I wanted either of the Coordinators to be on the hot seat. I NEVER said that either of the Coordinators is on the hot seat.

All I simply suggested was a little "what if" scenario during the dead period of July. IMO, neither Pry or Rahne is what you'd call an "established" Coordinator. Pry is in about his 3rd year since taking over from Benedit Bob Shoop and Rahne is going in just his 2nd season since taking over from Mega-Mastermind-Bill-Walsh-Junior Joe Morehead.

So we have a DC who is entering year 3, and an OC entering year 2..... My post suggested a purely hypothetical scenario. .....
>>>"WHAT IF .... either the O or the D struggles, which one of these COULD be on the hot seat?"

THAT question that I posed in the other thread is a lot different that asking "who would you rather see....".

Shoop left prior to the 2016 season, so this will be Pry’s fourth season as the sole DC - though he was the co-DC in 2014 and 2015.

3rd year / 4th year. And it being his 1st DC job. That's still a relatively in-experienced Coordinator. Bottom line is that both of these jobs are Rahne's and Pry's first ever as coordinators.

It’s all meant in good fun. I never said you were asking what I asked.

Well, that’s not exactly right either. Pry was the DC at Louisiana-Lafayette for five seasons (2002-06) and the DC at Georgia Southern in 2010. All told, this will be his tenth season as a sole defensive coordinator, and he spent five more as the co-DC at Vanderbilt and Penn State with Shoop.

After much thought, I have decided not to GTFOH. Thanks for the suggestion, however.

If I ever do GTFOH, then I’ll have to figure out where to GTFI. Hmm... That will take some research and planning.

Good luck with that Poll. 1 vote, you're off to a hot start! Try Harder ;)

None of the above

Agree. If not on the hot seat, then things are going well.

I think the term “hot seat” is overworked.

I think Pry is putting together a pretty good defense though I wish the tackling would be more consistent.

Rahne will be watched and analyzed since Trace is no longer there.

With both guys it’s going to be each’s ability to make the in-game adjustments needed to win. That, too, has been a point of some concern.

There can never be good fun when discussing PSU Football here. We are elite fans. We know the game and have an obligation to critique our sorry ass coaches. How can we be considered elite fans if we don't send at least one coach packing uprooted, wife and children sobbing..... Its the least we can do. After all.....this is PSU and we deserve better. Is it too much to ask to find a coach who doesn't teach drops? Don't even mention letting punts hit the ground......we must demand our coaches self assess.....good fun? I think not!

Honestly..... it’s the general negativity of the question. Why even think about failure in the first place? If you’re married it’s like asking “if you and your wife cheat, who will file the divorce papers first?” Why would you even want to think about that? How about “the team makes it to the CFP and each unit (O and D) are top 5 in the country, which coach (Pry or Rahne) gets a raise first?” Let’s look at the glass as half full, not the typical negative shit that rolls through this board.

As a Penn State fan, why would you want to see either coach on the hot seat? This would indicate that either the offense or defense is doing poorly. Smh on this post and poll.

How do we know this poll isn't high-jacked by russian hackers? I demand a recount.

Hell, let’s fire coaches after each game. If it was up to some posters on this board, we would be going through about 5 coordinators a year. Every play that doesn’t work is the OC’s fault and every time a player gets beat on defense it’s the DC’s fault...and everything is Franklin’s fault.
