For one, I think we had some great individual plays - i.e. Zettel. But more than that, I believe that Bob Shoop had our guys in the right place at the right time, in the majority of the situations. Granted they had to make the plays, but in the end they did. The Offense did just enough to allow the D to not get gashed due to fatigue like the Illinois game.
My question to the board is what will happen this year with more talent and in some cases more depth, albeit, young and inexperienced? I believe the Offense will still struggle against attacking defenses, but should be better against the poor defenses. I think the Defense will be on par with last year, but has some end and line question marks.
I predicted an 8-4 or 9-3 campaign this year, and perhaps if all the cards fall right, 10-2. I also think we upset MSU or tOSU as crazy as that sounds.
I am optimistic that Franklin and crew are building things the right way - attitude, hard work and adding talent that is far superior than that we have seen since the 1980's and early 1990's.
Here is to seeing the glass half full!
