If a court wants to take a mug shot ---- saying it's a necessary step of "record-keeping" and identifying the defendant ---- fine, whatever, I guess.
But can anyone (I'd particularly challenge the likes of @NJPSU and @LafayetteBear to show some intellectual chops here, if they have the ability) defend publishing those mug shots? What's the point? Humiliating the (still-presumed innocent under the eyes of the court) defendant? To influence potential juries? Why?
