Army is surprisingly a sell out, but that may be the only sold out game of the year. Michigan is a good draw but unfortunately it happens around Thanksgiving. Rutgers drew well but did not sell out. SDSU, Indiana, and Illinois will not sell out. Yet, we could sell out many of those games ten years ago. What happened? My two cents:
1) the out of conference schedule is terrible. I know BOB wanted to load up on cupcakes so we could get some wins during the sanctions but the Idahos continue to come. Yes, we have Virginia Tech is 2023 or something like that.
2) STEP was disruptive and I don't think we have recovered, even though some posters suggest the Athletic Dept is making more under that plan, even with attendance down.
3) every game is on tv and while that has been true for awhile, it seems to finally be taking its toll.
4) we have more hotels in SC but they continue to charge absurd prices. For out of towners who used to go to a number of games, you are forced to cut back.
5) we still have some JoeBots who refuse to go back, which is sad and unfortunate.

I liked the fireworks and a new band director may spice up the Blue Band, but Buffalo, Idaho, Akron, Kent State, etc. C'mon!
