I was there too. Great experience. The best part was when I watched Sal Sunseri fall to the ground on purpose as Mike Munchak approached him. As the game progressed Sal didn't want any part of Munchak.48-14. Greatest road game I ever attended.

That was glorious!48-14. Greatest road game I ever attended.
I was 16 years old and listened to the game on the radio while the snow flurries fell as I sat in line with my mom to get my drivers license @ the old West Chester DMV.That was glorious!
I was also there. The single worst quarter of Penn State football I ever watched. I remember saying to my girlfriend [who is now my wife of 42 years] as Pitt was driving to go up 21-0 , that no matter what we would stay and cheer to support the team. Then the damn broke. Best ever short of our 2 Natty's.48-14. Greatest road game I ever attended.
I watched the game in our office lunchroom in Reno NV. I remember it came on pretty early in the morning. What a game!My mother sent me to the hardware store to buy a door hinge. The owner was the nicest guy in the world but he was furious that day. Told mom about his mood when I got home. She said he was a golden panther who donated big bucks to Pitt. That explained his boiling anger 🤬.
Unfortunately I lived the opposite experience with my college gf whose dad went and played at Pitt when Kizner threw the late pick 6 at the old stadium to lose...Maybe my best day/weekend ever.
I married into a family of Pitt fans. Great people who unfortunately had this undying devotion to "their university".
Wednesday before Thanksgiving, my wife and I go to visit her aunt and uncle. Their youngest son was a student at Pitt and good friends with a number of football players. Longest evening ever putting up with the scata that he was hurling my way.
Went to game that Saturday, sitting in PSU fan section. Started poorly but how glorious was the end.
Got home that night and never received unUnfa congratulatory phone call.
Didn't matter because the next day I was going to the Steelers game with my father-in-law, one brother-in-law and the young cousin who provided Wednesday's entertainment.
Shortly before I left to pickup the cohort (I was driving), my mother-in-law call and warns my wife that it could get ugly as they all were quite chafed from Saturday's event. Being the kind wife, she relayed the warning to old Dibbs.
I simply told her that I would say nothing, but the ear-to-ear grin would send the message.
