Oregon college shooting: 'He asked are you Christian? Then he shot and killed them'
Anastasia Boylan, 18, was in a class when Harper Mercer came in shooting, her father Stacey Boylan told CNN. He said his daughter, who was undergoing surgery for her injuries, survived by “playing dead”.
“[Harper Mercer] came in and there was gunfire immediately and he scattered the room. From what I understood what she said was he shot the professor point blank, one shot killed him.

“Others had been injured and then this man had enough time – I don’t know how much time elapsed – he was able to stand there and start asking people one by one what their religion was.
“‘Are you a Christian?’ he would ask them, and ‘if you are a Christian then stand up’ and they would stand up.
He’d say ‘because you are a Christian you’re going to see God in about one second’ and then he shot and killed them.

The Latest: Victim told grandmother Christians targeted

The grandmother of one of the Oregon shooting victims says her granddaughter told her the gunman was singling out students who said they were Christian.
Janet Willis told The Associated Press her granddaughter, Anastasia Boylan, was in the classroom when the shooter opened fire Thursday at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg.
Willis, who visited her granddaughter in the hospital, says Boylan told her the shooter was asking students about their faith.
"If they said they were Christian, he shot them in the head," Willis says her granddaughter told her.
Willis says her granddaughter also told her the shooter handed a student who wasn't shot a package and told him to deliver it to authorities.

What Gunman Wrote in Hate-Filled Document Found at Scene of Shooting
The heavily armed gunman who slaughtered nine people at an Oregon college left a hate-filled note at the scene of his rampage and "felt the world was against him," law enforcement officials confirmed Friday.
Two officials familiar with the contents of the note say 26-year-old Christopher Harper Mercer, who was killed in after an exchange of gunfire with police Thursday at Umpqua Community College,
wrote that he would be "welcomed in Hell and embraced by the devil."
