WOW!! Centre County Judge

Brad Lunsford has announced he will not seek retention (his term is up - I believe - this year)
Normally it is more or less a formality for a sitting County judge to sign up, and be retained (re-elected) for another term.

[Disclosure: I know Brad - at least casually - and consider him to be a "good guy"]

This comes as a shock to me.....but maybe par for the course with what has been going on in Centre County. For those of you who don't recall, Judge Lunsford was the guy who got caught up in that whole "texting" stuff with the Prosecuting Attorneys/SPM/etc.

Not sure what to make of this.....but I can certainly understand anyone's motivation to extricate from the cesspool that seems to pervade PA Legislative and Judicial bodies - particularly in Centre County.

He may seem like a "good guy" but a judge exchanging texts with a prosecutor in the midst of a trial is very very whiffy.

Um, apparently you forgot that he hasn't been allowed to hear criminal cases except for DUI since December......
