Her husband is from CLE and you'd run into them at various places to eat from time to time. She was really pretty and tiny. Hard to believe that she is 70!

Great thread, Obli. I saw this in my local paper this morning as well, as they include a daily "Birthdays" paragraph listing birthdays of famous people. Rod Stewart is 78 today and Donald Fagen is 75 today. But somehow, Pat Benatar is MUCH harder to envision as a senior citizen than either Stewart or Fagen. She was a real siren in her heyday.

That was great.

Mine: Love Is A Battlefield.

Hard to believe she's 70 years of age, but we're all getting older...and probably feeling it...
Yes….Love is a Battlefield was one of the most iconic music videos ever.

Basic construct…

Teen Pat gets thrown out of her house whilst waving to her little bro in the window. Her dad, Nathan Arizona from Raising Arizona fame, tells her to forget about ever coming back.

She takes a bus to the big city, and while living there, starts working as a stripper. One night at the club, while on the dance floor, she seemingly organizes the other girls into a strippers union of sorts. She tosses a drink in her evil pimp/club owner’s face and then, with the other strippers, proceed to 80’s “V” shoulder shimmy their sneering, evil pimp/club owner off the dance floor.

The girls then continue to line dance right out the door into the street, continuing all night because she’s last seen walking down the highway in total daylight, waving goodbye to her now jobless stripper friends.

AMAZING!

I remember watching Manhunter about the Atlanta child murders and an episode ended with a perfect song. Forgot how good this song was.

Amazing how such a tiny woman had such a powerful voice…..and became the ‘tuff girl” of rock n roll.
I believe her mom was an opera singer and PB was trained in that as a kid but turned to pop-rock as a young adult. She has a lower jaw that juts out a bit which makes a large oral cavity. You see this in a lot of powerful women singers like Whitney Houston and Cher...but they are bigger women as well. I wonder if she values her jaw line as part of her voice. I know that Streisand never got a nose job as she feared it would change her voice/sound.
