OSU got off to a great early start, but they now are down to 7 (out of 10) left in the championship side
Cornell also started fast, but are now down to 6 (out of 9) left in the championship side
Illinois down to 6 (out of 10) left in championship side
Iowa down to 6 (out of 10) and suffered two HUGE upset losses
Michigan down to 6 (out of 10) Minnesota down to 6 (out of 8) Missouri down to 7 (out of 10) and had one big upset loss
Nebraska down to 6 (out of 9) Oklahoma State down to 7 (out of 9)
Long, long way to go....but a great first session.
PSU would still be a huge underdog to finish anywhere in the top 3 or 4.......they will need to pull a few upsets in 2nd round to stay in the hunt. Any realistic shot for the top 4 will likely require another real good session later today.
PSU currently in 2nd place....2 points behind OSU.
Of the seven 2nd round matchups......PSU will likely be a solid favorite in 3, a toss-up in 1, a slight underdog in 1, and a solid underdog in 2.
Gotta' believe they need to come out with AT LEAST 5 wins to stay in the chase for a top 5 finish.....it ain't gonna' be easy.
