I was told that Brill caught and pinned Bo. Gary Dinmore beat Jimmy. If true, talks to depth although I know the haters will take a different position. If not I apologize for rumor. I may being trolled but from reliable sources. Big fan of Brian, Bo, Jimmy And Gary so no favorites.

The first person I saw mention Brill-Nickal was noted Penn State and Cael-hater LU_Alum on TheMat. So color me skeptical

Yes MB spanked him after the close call in the first period. My point was a positive spin for BN. He'll probably go on to win the national championship as MB did.

Oh God lyco... Please don't give out any inside information. U will be shunned and degraded forever ! Just take ur ball and bat and go home. This kind of information is not welcome here. How dare you ! " even tho it's a week late "

I am excited we have decent kids at every weight and strong depth too. Guys who are hungry for success make everyone around them better.

Well John Doe, did you post this a week ago? If so, where. Thanks.

Cody Sanderson said that Brill could be outstanding if he would simply CARE more....If he was 100% in all the time he could very well be one of our best.....Needs a better mind set on a consistent basis....

Dinmore over Gulibon raises some questions. Is Gary that good or is Jimmy too small at 141? Either way, should Jimmy start making his way back down to 133; can he even make it now? Things that make you go Hmm……..

It may mean that Dinmore is really good at wrestling Gulibon...

It's early and guys beat each other in the room. Also, these are all very good wrestlers going at each other, so guys are going to lose (someone has to).

I get what you're saying however I'm not sure the coaches can get away with that type of attitude. Would it really be acceptable for Jimmy Gulibon to be riding the bench this year if this wasn't a one-off and he can make 133? Now maybe that ship has sailed and he's committed to 141; maybe this lights a fire and he wins the next few, I don't know, but it certainly is an interesting result that not many people expected.

Maybe Dinmore is a huge 141. Didn't he wrestle 152 his senior year, and 149 last year in the opens?

Yes, although a few weeks ago I noted that his weight was listed as 149 in the initial trackwrestling roster (as was Gulibon's), which is indicative that he weighed less than 149 for certs and probably was certing at 141 (can't be sure, but just an educated guess).

Someone above mentioned his victory over Jack last year at 149, he did post some good results, sometimes inconsistent. He "grey" shirted, so I would expect that he is redshirting this year no matter what happens. Nice position to be in.

Lots of factors here - Dinmore is good, Dinmore is big, familiarity in the room, etc. JG has some tests early on - Neff, Chisko - so let's hold out making any judgements for now. We'll find out soon enough how JG is at 141.

Well Lyco...we're gonna see what the lineup is together on the 13th!!

There is no guarantee JG can win the spot at 133.Two years ago Jimmy and Jordan were very close when they were fighting for the starting job..

JG will be just fine at '41. Losses in the room happen all the time even for the best wrestlers. For reference, Brent Metcalf is noted as a really poor practice wrestler

When I wrestled there were times when I would spank the kid I was wrestling off against and other times when it was very close against the same kid. It happens when you practice and wrestle against somebody so often. You pretty much know what they are going to do at all times.

Really Poor? I find that hard to believe. Also I'm sure Gulibon will be just fine at 41.

You'll have to reach out to Smalls and a few other but the Metcalf in the room is notorious for being nowhere near the competition level Metcalf for one reason or another

HR already has a bounty out on Willie, can't imagine how much bigger that would make it.

I get what your saying, but I feel that "really poor" is not an accurate description of Brent Metcalfs practice room performances.

Yeah, I'm okay with that. Maybe not the best word choice. Let's say peculiar in the room. That work?

I can agree that Metcalf giving up points in the room may seem peculiar to some. Its probably a case of taking himself out of his comfort zone.

My twin brother and I used to square off in the room all the time. Coach used to end practice with us going at it and call it "bragging rights at the dinner table." I took him rather easily but come match time he was a different wrestler. We faced each other at a tournament and actually beat me once.
