That's a popular, but unconfirmed belief around here. I think Spencer just prefered Iowa, personally. Good for him. 2020 (foresight) could be interesting for us if tOSU shirts Martin and McKenna next year.I feel totally greedy, and with this re-load coming in, I can't imagine how the current 3-in-a-row doesn't become 6- or 7-in-a-row....
Help me with recollection -- did Spencer Lee leave Pennsylvania for Iowa because Suriano was coming to Penn State?
No. Cael would've moved Suriano up. And no way Lee would've been deterred by anybody.Help me with recollection -- did Spencer Lee leave Pennsylvania for Iowa because Suriano was coming to Penn State?
Nitfan -- this is an old article. We discussed it a good bit when it appeared on March 6th. In addition, my pinned post about Signees/Verbal's Postseasons had most of the info contained in the article before the article was published.
BrucePa -- El-Jefe's answer is pretty good. Lee was a year behind Suriano. PSU really wanted Lee, and recruited him for several years. Suriano wanted Lee to join him at PSU. Suriano was planning to move to 133 if Lee joined PSU. Suriano opting for Iowa had nothing to do with Suriano being at PSU.
Wait, Suriano is going to Iowa now also????
If he did, at least someone would help him improve.Wait, Suriano is going to Iowa now also????
Yeah ...because he did terrible at Rutgers...Went through regular season unbeaten. Won a Midlands title. Didn't have a point scored on him in NCAA Tournament until NCAA Final. If he did, at least someone would help him improve.
Don't forget Pletcher as well. That's a popular, but unconfirmed belief around here. I think Spencer just prefered Iowa, personally. Good for him. 2020 (foresight) could be interesting for us if tOSU shirts Martin and McKenna next year.
He'd still have eligibility in 2020 either way, but yeah, he could also shirt.Don't forget Pletcher as well.
you forgot to mention that he left Penn State "high and dry"Yeah ...because he did terrible at Rutgers...Went through regular season unbeaten. Won a Midlands title. Didn't have a point scored on him in NCAA Tournament until NCAA Final.
He was already at that skill level when he showed up at Rutgers. Actually he had a stronger offensive skill set when he left State College than he does now.Yeah ...because he did terrible at Rutgers...Went through regular season unbeaten. Won a Midlands title. Didn't have a point scored on him in NCAA Tournament until NCAA Final.
