WRESTLING: We Are... BETTER

I asked this question earlier in the week after the performance that we had. Well we got one! Alright!

Thanks for picking up that ND twitter trash and stomping her to the curb for me Chi. I threw the chum out there and I sensed you were hungry.
That ND twitter trash is "Meaghann Schulte." Her brother is Patrick Schulte (aka, the OAG's lead prosecutor against Graham Spanier). Special thanks to @PearlSUJam for pointing out her hatred of Penn State and love for Notre Dame (link). She's hell-bent on telling everyone that #JoeKnew.

Here is her twitter feed: https://www.twitter.com/mapants

Jefferson is not far from me. Good to see a local kid going to Penn State. However I can't imagine why a kid from Jefferson would consider going to Iowa over Penn State.

What weight is he projected at.....thanks in advance!

(The 120 in the pic I assume references his IQ since he's coming to Happy Valley.....is it also his current weight?)

Iowa fans are going to be apoplectic. All they could talk about was catching up to us with Lee and Teasdale.
They ARE apoplectic! I just read through a slew of messages on the Iowa wrestling board (Rivals.com). A lot of arrows coming toward PSU in general and toward Cael in particular.

I saw that , Cael is paying them and other nonsense. They can't grasp a Pa. kid might want to stay at home and wrestle close to their parents at the top wrestling school in the country .

What is happening right now with Penn State wrestling, you will not see again, maybe ever, at the D1 level of college wrestling. Right now as we speak, Penn State has won 6 of the last 7 National Championships, during the modern age of the sport with more parity than the sport has ever seen before. What Dan Gable did at Iowa, occurred during a different time in the sport, when the sport was top heavy with only 3 or 4 programs annually at the highest level.

Enjoy this folks, what you are watching is nothing short of historical.

Would not surprise me to see Gavin move up to 132 for his final year in high school, to prepare for his freshman year at Penn State.

That board is 1 nut short of the Pitt board when it comes to anything regarding Penn State.

Cael is apparently paying recruits........wealthy PSU alumni are violating NCAA rules and paying off wrestlers college debt once they graduate.......PSU is somehow cheating and it will all collapse shortly......PSU is negatively recruiting Iowa.......mocking Penn State wrestlers/ coaches for saying they were 'having fun' as it is all a lie for recruiting, Cael has 'no loyalty or honor' and is a 'scumbag', etc :rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Obviously the 2018 class is loaded. Anyone know what Cael has coming in within the 2017 class?

For those of us not up on wrestling recruiting, is this the kid who is rated as the #1 recruit in PA?

Thanks,

OL
It's actually the buddy of the kid who was ranked as the #1 recruit in PA, Spencer Lee (who, hampered by an injured leg, lost in the PIAA state finals recently). Lee is a senior and is headed to Iowa (letter of intent signed, so high degree of certainty). Lee and Teasdale, who still has one year of HS left, were a package deal to Iowa, but now Teasdale has had a change of heart. Teasdale is likely to be in a higher college weight class than Lee, so we probably won't see them match up.

Won't see Spencer Lee until two years from now. Torn ACL and will undergo surgery, redshirt this coming season. He is a career 125 pounder. Teasdale will begin his collegiate career at 133.

I visited their board during the NCAA Tournament and made a few respectful posts then, and after the flip news tonight. I was very surprised by the absurd accusations of us cheating and how our dominance was bad for wrestling. Did Iowa cheat during their years on top? Was their dominance bad for the sport? There are some real hypocrites over there. I lost a lot of respect for Iowa wrestling fans over the past few days.

PSU now has the #2, #3, #4 and I think the #37 recruits in the class and we're considered the leaders for the #10 and #13 prospects, as well. According to the Iowa board.

I mean it's not like we're ever gonna have TEN National Champions in any one year.....are we?

How cool would that be to then visit the Iowa Board? (That event would trigger my first ever visit to their Board!)

They are a salty bunch over there tonight fair.... it's pitchforks and torches looking for anyone associated with psu

Yes, they did cheat during their years on top. Gable valued all 9.9 scholarships at out-of-state cost and then granted dollars. This "allowed" them to bring in almost twice the number of in-state wrestlers compared to every other program.

During Iowa's dynasty, and this happened often, Gable would have one man wrestling for most of the year at a weight, and then toward the end of the year, somebody would simply beat him out, and he would be replaced by the new man, and that man would go on to win a national championship. THAT is how crazy-deep they were.

If nothing else it's a look into human behavior.

You're right- when Iowa was dominant in recruiting and winning national titles all the time it was great to them. However, when Penn State is winning 6 of the last 7 national titles it's suddenly bad for the sport and Penn St is obviously cheating.

If you ever wanted to see the psychology of double standards in how people treat 'their' side verses the other side (whether in sports, work, politics, etc) this is it. ;)

Could it be that PSU is now giving out a double-secret, maximum book allowance and that is causing all these recruits to......flip. OSU, Clemson and the entire SEC can no longer compete with the financial powerhouse that is.........PENN STATE! Oh, the big money is when the semester is over, the book buy backs are sometimes in the........2 digit range. Micah Parsons............take notice.

I read a tweet where the writer claimed, to put 2017 in perspective, PSU defeated the USA in a dual meet

Correct. The final score was 21-15.

At the Nationals.

And, Zain Retherford, Jason Nolf, and Bo Nickal, Cenzo Joseph, and Mark Hall, combined, beat every other team but 6 teams.

She exemplifies these AntiJoeBot Freaks.... there is always a huge agenda with these automatons that fuels their hatred for facts.

I like how they are all over Cael for being a "scumbag" etc. Imagine if Cael had pulled that stunt after having a wrestler win a NC, with Brands grabbing Clark and saying over and over "Throw me! Throw me! Throw me! Throw me!" Clark says "No"....and he still keeps saying it until Clark does it.

Talk about a bullshit move. Let your wrestler enjoy his moment without you horning in on his glory. What a tool.

In wrestling, we have a TON of haters, lmao. Hell, there are even fans of other programs, who, instead of actually rooting for their own programs, are reduced to rooting for whoever is going up against our guys.

Lee may have been hobbled by his leg injury (and susequent lack of normal training) but give credit to Austin DeSanto for dropping down a weight class in order to avenge his tech fall loss to Lee the year before. I watched the end of the match (6-5 final). DeSanto had three takedowns in the last period. He smelled blood, so to speak.

I can't believe I'm posting about wrestling. I must be running a fever.
