I remember reading a story about how some vets bought some Shermans on the cheap after WW2 and used them in their construction business to demolish houses. Just have to make sure the house doesn't have a basement.
 
You can actually visit the Tank Farm in Va. outside of Wash. D.C. This is a veteran oriented facility where old tanks, and other Heavy Automatic Weapons such as Dusters are kept and there are events where the public can attend to see them in action. I have been there with my Vietnam veterans organization to see our Dusters and Quad 50s displays. They even demo a home-made flame thrower. See below:

I worked for United Defense in York PA. Supported the group that made the M88 tracked vehicle that retrieved disabled tanks from the battlefield. The M88 was the vehicle that brought down Saddam Hussein’s statue if you remember the news videos. We used to have an open house in the fall where you could ride the tanks over the test course.
