Been using it September thru November for 2 years with no problems getting PennState games (except for the game on Peacock this year which cost $5.99.)Anyone here have it? I just started free trial
I agree with you about scrolling through channels. Don't like it.I have it. Glad I changed to YouTube TV on cost alone (from cable) though there are other services that may be better. One thing I like in particular is to be able to take live TV anywhere I go. All I need is a phone or Wifi.
I chose YouTube for the channel lineup. The difference-maker was the Smithsonian Channel, which is why I kept cable for so long. I was a holdout and the cable company (AT&T) literally wanted their customers to stream, albeit with DirectTV. The hardware was no longer supported.
That said, I hate the Youtube interface. In the year 2023 you'd think they can not only do better, but produce a product that is without blatant bugs. The biggest bug is that you can put things into your (DVR) library. The system will show it as added. Then it won't be there when you look for it later. In other words, you miss your program.
I have not had that happen with sports or business shows but it happens a lot with the shows of interest to my wife. I've been unable to find the common denominator for things that don't get recorded. I suspect that it involves contractual agreements with program providers but that aspect isn't apparent to the user.
It's just outrageous that their programmers could be so incompetent. I was not a trained software engineer but I built some very sophisticated software and it never had egregious bugs like this does.
The other disappointment, and I'm guessing that others are like this, is that they've tried to copy the Netflix interface for live TV. It becomes a huge block for older people who are used to cable/satellite. Just scrolling through the channels is really awkward.
Maybe AI will write programs and test them.
Get an Iptv account and a vpn. Much cheaper and you can watch whatever the hell you want.Anyone here have it? I just started free trial

I will say this about directv stream..every year I call their loyalty division, tell them I don't want to cancel but need better price...they adjust me to $83...just $10 more than youtube tv

What’s your definition of “legal”?. You pay for it, so it’s yours….. is it fully legit, probably not. That’s why you need a vpn.Legally?
What it does is skirt rules around local broadcasting. The NFL or BIG doesn’t deem you worthy enough to watch the Penn State or Eagles games if you live in Florida without paying exorbitant fees with something like Sunday ticket? Well, you just watch PA locals through Iptv. What’s your definition of “legal”?. You pay for it, so it’s yours….. is it fully legit, probably not. That’s why you need a vpn.
I got it 6 months ago. It’s been great and local channels too.Anyone here have it? I just started free trial
I'm assuming no extra service charge for local channels. Spectrum charges a $24 fee for local coverage and you can't decline the local channelsI got it 6 months ago. It’s been great and local channels too.
I’ve had the problem where a few thing I recorded didn’t show up but when I searched for the program it usually is there and viewable. Not sure why it isn’t in the “library” with other things that are recorded.
I chose Hulu over YouTube due to their censorship policies. Also Hulu offers Disney + but I’ve actually never watched it. Other good ones are Fubo TV and Sling.
Everything AT&T touches turns to feces, at least from the perspective of the customer experience … Though DirecTV has sucked for ages anyhoo …What makes DirectTV better? Why would you choose it over YouTube TV?
That was one of the big minuses in dealing with AT&T/DirectTV -- the billing department. Our experiences were so bad that we would not even put them on autopay. Having to constantly complain and negotiate on price was another. I would dump them on that issue alone. We still have AT&T for internet, for lack of choice (beyond a satellite dish), but at least we are not dealing with the programming side.
