You can interview a pedophile till you are blue in the face and not get them to admit to wrong doing. Doesn't necessarily mean they are innocent. And, this is EXACTLY where Ziegler errors.

As science pushes forward, more and more evidence suggests pedophiles are "born" pedophiles. If you are "born" left handed, for example, you don't grow up thinking/believing you did something (ahem) wrong. You don't view yourself with guilt and admit wrong doing.

Ziegler is intelligent enough to pick up on evidence that doesn't make sense and question it (e.g., Jerry not having any pedophilia on his computer or elsewhere and the 1971 and 1976 allegations against Paterno). But, he still lacks fundamental science skills.

He would be wise to seek out expert consultation BEFORE opening his mouth when he comes across evidence that doesn't make sense. Not everything is as it seems. The world is not that black and white.

The article "cites" between 33-75% of pedophiles have been abused prior. That appears to be statistically significant vs. having brain tendencies towards child attraction alone. It boils down to the Pavlovian concept of classical conditioning. A reflex, that occurs naturally, gets associated with a stimulus that should not produce the same response unless it is closely paired with a response that a reflex can elicit. This is how phobias develop as well as sexual fetishes. Some folks brains may be more sensitive to producing tremendous responses to typical stimuli that can produce the reflex. This means they may be more susceptible to reacting in a high level of response to some stimuli. Ever see some kids who are deathly afraid of flying insects? All classical conditioning paired with a reactive nervous system. Nature & nurture working together.

Conclusion from recent research:

Let's assume Jerry is not attracted to young males. Let's assume this is all "boundary issues" - he's just goofy, naive and we're all just cowards, morons, frauds, pussies and lacking a spine to admit that Jerry is not guilty of any crimes.

What I am having a hard time reconciling is this:

• A founder and executive director of a children's charity he started in 1977 is not versed in Pennsylvania CPSL and what behaviors may constitute criminal action, should a parent escalate a complaint, even after Megan's Law was signed into effect by Gov. Ridge in 1995.
  
• An executive director of a children's charity for at-risk youth has no specialized training or clinical experience working with youth that not only come broken homes with bad parenting, these youth also possess behaviorial, emotional, social and/or substance abuse problems, and seems to couch all his at-risk youth mentoring via his work experience with elite college adult athletes. 2 completely different populations.
  
• This adult will not only engage individually with an at-risk minor, but drive to that minor's home and place that minor in his car - alone - without appropriate signed parental waivers on file with the charity offices under whose auspices he is allegedly contacting & "mentoring" these youth.
  
• This individual distributes gifts, tickets, cash and goodies to these youth privately instead of thru Second Mile offices for proper oversight.
  
• This adult will allow individual sleepovers at his private home and personally engage in private moments with youth on a bed in a separate bedroom.
  
• This adult - when confronted by the police in 1998 - who tell him straight up to knock it off with the naked kids in the shower thing - does not take extra efforts to ever have that happen again.
• This adult will contact Second Mile youth privately via phone calls, personal texts, personal letters and personal visits to their home & approach these youth in their public school, pulling them from class to discuss personal issues unrelated to school without parental approval.
  
• This adult will disrobe himself around unrelated youth, place his hands on a youth, naked bear hug a youth, kiss a youth, blow raspberries on adolescents' stomachs and tell unrelated teens "I love you". (see bullet point #1)
  
• The Second Mile charity itself has all the hallmarks of a grooming grounds for youth as set up by its founder Jerry Sandusky - easily explained here:
  
  
  
  
• The long time CEO of that charity, Dr. Jack Raykovitz is a licensed child psychologist who provides counseling to many Second Mile youth. It is astonishing that the CEO did not take steps to remove any and all opportunities for grooming by any adult that would be associated with the charity - from a lowly volunteer to the Founder.

Which makes me ask yet again - what the HELL was going on over at Second Mile?

He sounds awfully critical of Tim & Gary for pleading to avoid a trial & jail time considering he did exactly the same thing in Central PA just a few months ago.

I love how when there's police shootings, Ziggy always says "they should have cooperated and everything would be fine" and if there's video of excessive force he says "it's not that bad, at least they weren't shot"

Then there's that incident where Ziggy got arrested for being an obnoxious jackass. The cops told him to stop, he kept acting like a jackass. They pulled him out of the place and later he acts like it's the biggest case of police brutality the world has ever seen. Just an amazing hypocritical double standard that clown has.
