Clemson is still too high IMO--there's no way 3 ACC teams should be in the top 12

Is there talk of just doing a pure 1-12 seeding at some point and getting rid of the Conference champs getting the top 4 seeds?

Also that 5th Conf champ seems like a waste also.

I'm just happy they have a 12 team playoffs. Should have happened 30 years ago

I think it’s important to create that cinderella hope in cfb for the group of 5 schools. You will see a Boise St type school occasionally win a playoff game over the years creating a lot of buzz. Although one could say those conferences are of lesser quality nowadays as their best schools like utah, cincy or ucf are now in p4 conferences.

I do think it's better when it goes to 14 because there's no way Boise State, Miami/SMU, Tulane or a Big XII team should get a bye

There will be pressure for sure after this season from the money boys that carry the TV contracts ($8B!!!!!). Expect a push to eliminate CCGs

And they need to eliminate those games. They were a money grab which is no longer needed with the playoff contract.
Really, really hope you're right and that happens.
