Huge, huge pickup (again) for Chambers. Hampton de-committed a few months ago and is a HS teammate of 2015 commit Reaves at Oak Hill Academy. And, before we get posters that try to talk negatively about this, Hampton is a 3-star, top-200 recruit in the country with offers from Maryland and Xavier, with serious interest from schools like Georgetown. More importantly, he's a player at a position of need who plays at one of the blue blood schools in the country.

Lol WHAT?! That almost never happens.

Does anybody know if he got any offers between decommitting and now? Grass not always greener? Anything to do with Daly's departure?

Regardless, good to have him back...lets just hope he stays this time!

I'm not sure when he picked up his Maryland offer, but they were certainly after him hard and were the favorite to land him after he decommitted - although some crystal balls had him going to Georgetown. Hampton and Bostick are certainly nice building blocks for this class, with (I believe) four scholarships remaining.

awesome pick up....now we need Carr, Stevens, and Painter to jump on board and we have a difference making class.

I would say that style might rule out G'Town as they are a princeton type offense where the big guys are high post passers as much as low post bangers. MD getting Suliamon and with Diamond Stone coming in, maybe they readjusted their priorities.

That would be two straight difference making classes. It's a talent acquisition sport. That's how you turn a program around.

Did Maryland pick up another commitment recently causing them to cool on him at the last minute?

As a side note, ever since the split of the Big East I've thought that Georgetown and Villanova will gradually taper off to somewhere around Butler/Gonzaga status. Sure they are good/brand basketball schools, but playing against Big East Competition is not as alluring as it once was, by quite a bit.

If Jay Wright sticks around, they aren't going anywhere but up. Urban setting, fertile recruiting region, star coach.

I had a feeling this might happen with the success of the team in the tournament.

That's huge. PSU has a nice class coming in this year but they desperately need a strong PF.

I know Buzz was after him at VaTech and Boston College recently offered. Still circled back around to us, huge news as he fills a big, tough to fill need

EXACTLY the kind of player that we need. This is very, very big.

As I have said before...Tim Curley gave his friend Ed 8 years...Pat deserves at least 7.

We won't be a player for it next year, but in year six, I think if we can just land a few more...we can
make the dance. Making the NCAA tournament in year six, after that 8 year sadness with Dechellis, would be amazing. NIT run this year.

MD is gonna be loaded the next 2-3 years. Kid had to look at their depth chart and question PT. He will play 30+ minutes a night from the first day he sets foot in Happy Valley.

Great re-get for Chambers.

I disagree. I think they will taper off and become a good, not great program. They can't sell playing all those big east power house programs anymore. Their conference schedule is highly underwhelming.

This is not a huge surprise as I had heard his decommit had to do with Coach Anderson possibly leaving, but he didn't. It was Daly who has left. Exciting because if Chambers can grab Painter, Carr, and Stevens this gives the Nits two top classes in a row. When has that happened, if ever! Plus alot of the talent is coming from some very fertile areas.....

Well, not it the short hall at least. The Nova team next year will be a top 10 team (with the addition of a 5 STAR guard an only the loss of one key starter. Plus Nova's first recruit for 2016 is a 5 STAR Big. We drool for that kind of talent. So I would have to say Nova will be a top tier program for at least the next 4-5 years, After that it's anyones guess. If I were a bearing man I would say they will be a top 10-20 type program for the next decade.
