2018 game at Pitt will not be a night game...

The Pirates are off the prior Thursday. What are the odds Pitt proposes pushing the game up a couple days?? If they do, the answer had better be "no". Looks like another nooner at Heinz.

Since the game will be played at Heinz Field, why would a Pirate game mean the Pitt game cannot be played at night?
They usually don't have games at Heinz and PNC Park at the same time - it would be a logistical nightmare because fans for both stadiums use the same lots for parking. As it is, Pitt/PSU needs to be at noon so that the lots can clear out in time for the Pirates game - although I can't imagine too many people will be going to see the Pirates in September next year.

Heinz Field and PNC Park share parking lots. PNC contract with the stadium authority gives them exclusive access to the lots. Since Pitt sublets from the Steelers they get the shaft. They have played at the same time as the Pirates but typically they don't because when they do Pitt parking passes are not valid.

If there is a Pirates game that night ... this game will be again at 12 pm.

They have to clear out the lots prior to everyone coming in for the Pirates game that night

It gives them something to bitch and moan about. The whole Pitt fan experience is just bitching and moaning, so it's really a win for them.

I see. Well, that's what you get when you tear down your on-campus stadium and decide to rent one.
