2019-20 Wrestling Season Bets/Wagers

With PSU and Iowa expected to be close this year (by some, at least), I imagine there could be an uptick in wagering (friendly or otherwise) among fans, especially if we see more Hawkeye fan participation over here. Perhaps it makes sense to track bets/wagers in a designated thread . . .

$50 on the dual meet $50 on the big 10 championship and $50 on the national championship. All proceeds going to a charity of the winners choice. The side wager is a steak dinner at the big tens loser pays The Bill. Obviously both parties need to be there and its home field choice of steak house.

Pretty much agree on all points assuming the Berge comment means he finishes above his ranking. I too think Beard may not be in plan day 1 but either through performance or injury is our guy by year end. I would be thrilled to be wrong and see Conel cruise to a top 4

Probably not, but anything's possible at the tournament. Injuries, bad draws, good draws, mental stuff, weight control, personal matters, sleep, and on and on. Not much for bravado myself, just hope (if he goes) he's the best version of himself at that time, then let the chips fall where they may...same with all wrestlers. Nit's comment above, if Beard goes, is right in that it's not where this talented young man should be seeded after any part of a season under his belt. May be moot, as Conel's no slouch.

If healthy applies across the board. Our awareness of that if is more forward in our minds for some, Conel, Shak, than others.
If gram can't use the ladies room, tell her to go ahead and use the men's room. Most won't have the balls to challenge her.

It really is my hope that he does. It's a brutal sport, with serious injuries every year that prevent guys from being their best. Not a big fans of if's and but's myself, but nitlion nailed this one, imo … given the injury rate.

Mine is not a wager, simply a pledge.
I contend there is no way Iowa is winning the 2020 NCAA wrestling team championship. If Iowa does somehow claim that championship I pledge to give Wrestling For Life a $250 donation in Tom Brands' name.

Feel free to pledge something similar, except your donation would be tied to Iowa not winning the championship this season.
